MyBB Lost Control OOC Scheduling
OOC scheduling has been a theme issue for some schools in the AAC. We must realize that some teams have rivalry games that are played every year, hence Temple playing the Big 5 opponents every year.

We we can't do is change the strength of those teams each year we play them. We can only hope that they will live up to past performances if those performances are usually good, or achieve close to their top years.

For example, Temple plays LaSalle every year. LaSalle has had some past glory in their history but not consistently had great years. This past season saw their RPI at a bad 178. However, in 2013 they reached the Sweet Sixteen.

Temple can't change the tradition game against LaSalle and can only hope that they have good years when they play them.

This probably can be said for several AAC OOC opponents. It's those other OOC opponents that they can impove if improvement is needed.

Scheduling D2 games should be virtually non-existent for this conference. It may not hurt RPI but it certainly doesn't help the "Eye test".

No one has a problem with Temple's scheduling though. If all you played was the Big 5 and a bunch of nobodies, that would be one thing. But with Kansas, Duke, and UNLV (down year, but usually good) on the schedule, I think you guys did great. Villanova is always tough. St. Joe's is usually better than they were this year, and LaSalle has their years as well. Temple's only problem this year was lack of top 50 wins (2) and the NCAA selection committee reaching for names (UCLA, Texas) while screwing over Temple, Colorado State, and others.

Title IX. We don't even have a men's soccer team...partially because they sucked when we did, which really made no sense

Uhhhh, playing LaSalle with their RPI would be better for Temple than playing the bottom 4 or 5 teams in the AAC. That is a joke. Temple should keep playing LaSalle, and maybe Penn State Abington's girls team, because both have better RPI rankings than some of our AAC teams.

Duh...

- Houston and USF just hired new coaches, who were forced to roll the dice with last second JUCO commits.
- UCF will just get off NCAA sanctions after this year..
- And, Tulane and ECU just moved up significantly in competition. That being said, both said teams beat the Bearcats this year.

In no rational universe were these teams poised for a good year. Those kind of transitions take time.

It's also worth noting that all of the above teams are recruiting significantly better since they joined the AAC. UCF has a fine class. Tulane has a good class as well. Sampson had Ronnie Johnson sitting out this year from Purdue and also signed Galen Robinson (who was drawing heavy interest from Georgetown). The Coogs will have no trouble attracting talent. That said, it was a much rockier start than it would have been if House and Thomas stayed.

Dear ECU, Tulane, UCF, UH, Tulsa, USF

Please stop scheduling YMCA teams (except Tulsa, since your home gym is in the Y), DII teams, high schools, etc. YOU ARE KILLING THE REST OF US.

Thanks

UC did alright in the AQ.

You have had one good year in the last 50....nice job.

UC has done what you did last year and more 7 of the last 8 years.

You guys should try and string a few good years together before you think your program has arrived.
