The concern for me is that only one of those wins came away from The Ted. On the one hand, I think some of the road woes have been linked to a lack of energy in empty arenas, and that we won't have to worry about that in MSG against a P5 team in a simifinal matchup. On the other hand, I could be wrong, and we will lose because we just can't play away from home.

We should have more fans there than Stanford, I'd think. I'd also think the fans of Temple and Miami would perceive us as an underdog and be friendly to our cause on Tuesday. We'll see.

For those of us who are out of town and not subscribers to the pilot, can you copy and paste or provide a summary?

Not that anyone cares, but I have always found Molinaro funny. Crotchety? Yes, but funny and down to earth.

Didn't Molinaro quit/take a buyout/get laid off?

He is doing some freelance stuff.

He was shown the door but I do not know if it was a buyout or a layoff. The Pilot booted a lot of their senior folks from Molinaro to Mal Vincent virtually without warning. Now they pay them for some stuff as freelancers. It was brutal as I understand it and left the rest of the staff shaking in their booties which I am sure is what management wanted.

Stanford is really talented, won this in 2012 and they should be the favorite. This should be a high level game.

Saw a tweet that the LSI office has purchased more tickets and students on the list will be notified. ODU had 450 tickets, so that's a hteat showing. This is really going to solidify student section participation for next season and beyond.

RE: ODU vs Stanford
I don't know if this was mentioned and I know about as much about BPI as I do RPI (I stay out of those arguments), but ESPN has Stanford as 40 BPI and ODU at 55. Just doesn't seem right but I will leave it at that.

BTW, Temple is 63

All arguments aside, some of the computer ratings can be decent tools, but the BPI is absolutely terrible and never gives you a number that makes any sense at all.

RE: ODU vs Stanford
BPI incorporates "pace" and while it's an interesting number, I don't think there's any reason to assume that, all else equal, a team with a slower pace is worse than a team with a faster one.

Defensive teams will rank lower in this because of this issue.

For example, the NCAA pace leader this year was VMI. Northern Iowa was ranked #349 this year. UVA was #348. More bottom 5 teams made the NCAAs than top 5 teams. ODU was #331.

RE: ODU vs Stanford
So what info do we have on Stanford. I have simply looked at their w/l and nothing jumps out a ton.

2 point underdog is what I am seeing.

Anyone with some info?

I put this in the other Stanford thread: http://csnbbs.com/thread-732441-post-119...id11925713

And if you follow thread from there, there is some more talk about what they do.

Saw a Tweet by Nancy Lieberman--I'm at ODU today, wish I were at MSG with our guys. Put it on Stanford tonight.

I hope she is enrolling her son.

I haven't really seen Miami play before today but they really look bad. Just so disorganized.

They should've lost to Richmond
