RE: Where Is Pastner In 2017?
My hope for Coach is that we will have a very successful season next year and that he will parlay that into another job. Then we can hire who you guys think is a good coach. But the only thing that I'm concerned about is whether or not that coach can have success enough early to appease the fan base. If he doesn't make a run within 4 years, he'll be on the hot seat.

Again, he won't be here so it won't really matter.

If merely getting to the NCAA tournament next season keeps him employed here then there will be zero question the basketball standard has been lowered at Memphis.

Shaq, Burrell, Kedren, and probably Nichols gone after next year so 2016-17 will probably be another rebuilding year......

What's scary is that it if we don't make the sweet 16 next year and with possibly rebuilding the year after, it might be a decade since we last made it to the sweet 16. In today's landscape, that's basically becoming irrelevant in college basketball.

Relax. Josh said there would be "no slippage"

I could see us getting into one of the play in games and losing and that maybe being enough for him to get fired. But otherwise, I agree. If he makes the tournament they aren't going to fire him.

Source: Texas AD Steve Patterson pressuring Rick Barnes to make staff changes. If assistants don't change, Patterson will change head coach.

Sound familiar?
