So did East Carolina.

No way I did not know that. Thank You for that information. All knowing 04-bow 04-bow

My mother-in-law started at ECTTS (East Carolina Teachers training School) in 1917. A few years later the name changed to ECTC (East Carolina Teachers College). Many folks in that part of the state continued to refer to it that way long after it became officially East Carolina College (my wife's alma mater) and later ECU.

They got Soap on a Rope. Never, ever question the value of Soap on a Robe in an all male locker room. 03-thumbsup

No they really don't.....I doubt a Syracuse fan has the first clue about the pulse of FSU's fan base.

There are ALWAYS dissenters, but every booster (myself included...since 1991), Tally resident, graduate, etc I know would dance in the street for the SEC.

FSU isn't getting in the SEC...fine, but that doesn't mean the ACC is a fit....it isn't . The ACC has the mindset of the Big East and FSU just doesn't fit there.

We don't belong and our fan base knows it.....our BOT is waking up to the idea they were hoodwinked (their own fault) by Swofford and Barrons BS. More importantly....the idea that the ACC would grow behind what it was in 1991......that won't happen. The ACC will never change it's culture.....it only cares about basketball and it won't change. Football is considered a success if teams are dressed out.

The culture differences won't go away......and the revenue differences are growing....doesn't look good for ACC stability

I'll play ball. How do you feel about being UF's little brother in every way and fighting to finish 4th in your division (of 8) every year? How does a conference championship every 20 years sound?

Are you jazzed about that?

03-lmfao

UF's little brother "in every way" except their own fans admit FSU has better football coaching offices, locker room, indoor practice facility, player dorm, etc. FSU is breaking ground on ~$80M in stadium upgrades. UF is playing catch up on us in many regards.

You know FSU is 21-18-1 against UF in football since 1977, right?

I know that Bobby Bowden had losing records against both UF and Miami. That's how tough things are in Florida.

Don't get too cocky. FSU hadn't won anything since the 1990s until Jameis Winston showed up. No Winston, no title in 2013 and no playoffs in 2014. Absent one guy, FSU has no accomplishments in football worth talking about the past 15 years.

You guys have flown very high the last two years, but you are firmly UF's little brother. That's just the reality of the situation and it will likely always be that way.

Time will tell, but I strongly suspect Jimbo is your Gene Cizic, a mediocre coach who road the coattails of an astonishingly good QB to results way above his coaching ability. Problem is, one usually doesn't catch lightning in a bottle twice.

Each of FSU's last two coaches have won national titles. If Bowden had been fired earlier, FSU wouldn't have been "down" nearly as long as it was. So you can say little brother this or that, but:

* FSU leads the series against UF since 1977
* FSU has as many national titles and Heisman winners as UF
* FSU has a better IPF, locker room, lounge areas and player dorms than UF
* UF is playing catch-up on the above facilities

Facts. No bragging. No cockiness. Just the truth. Something you could use a little bit more of.

If FSU did the right thing like Montana did when their QB was accused of rape? Winston would not have won the Heisman, and FSU would not have won the National Championship. Montana expelled their star QB which is why they are not under heavy criticism like FSU is under right now.

FSU did do the right thing. You don't suspend someone who wasn't even arrested, based off a questionable accusation.

Not that it matters, but FSU did not start out as a female teaching school. It was variations of all-male, co-ed and military during the mid/late 1800s. In the early 1900s it became all-female. Then in the mid 1900s co-ed again.

So less than 1/4 of FSU's history is as a female-only school, but some people bring it up incessantly, intending it to be some type of an insult. Not saying that's what you did. FSU fielded a football team in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It's players then transferred to UF to help establish the program in Gainesville. The "F" that UF uses was actually worn by the early FSU teams (West Florida Seminary).
