That's not insinuating. That's a pretty strong, unambiguous statement.
That whole bolded statement is predicated on if we're not in CUSA. And that is the context Haase said it in. As of now we're still in CUSA and hope to remain in CUSA. Haase sounds like a coach that is being open about our situation and in no way insinuating we are not going to be in CUSA.

RE: Haase signs 6 year deal with UAB
Haase would probably be perfectly fine staying in CUSA. But I think it's pretty well known that CUSA schools are unlikely to change the bylaws for us to stay. As such, I think he's acknowledging the obvious which is that UAB will not be in CUSA beyond next year unless football gets restored in the next few months. Either that, or the majority of CUSA schools would have to change their tune about the bylaws which neither I nor pretty much anyone else expects.

That's the key and all of us want UAB to bring football back and remain in C-USA. I would think that with all the recent disclosures, the path to accomplishing that is going to be somewhat easier. At least I hope so.

Time is key here. I know everybody wants to throw us out if we don't restore football, and I don't blame them. But everything goif on right now is the Watts plan, not the UAB plan. If the conference wants us to stay, they need to give us time to run this clown out of office. Until that is done, nothing else is going to happen.
We have been stopped at every turn trying to bring football back. The task force recommendation was shot down by watts, even though this task force was independent. The season ticket drive for 2016 was stopped, because holy crap they sold over 4000 in 3 days. The next thing we do will be stopped too. Watts has to go, and we need time to make that happen.
I understand from the outside this is simply, well UAB is investing in basketball, so they aren't even trying to bring football back. But this is one man acting, not an entire university. Remember, he has votes of no confidence from the students, faculty, and finally the alumni. Nobody is on board with his plan who actually cares about the school.

UAB is serious about playing football.
Its idiot president is not, but we're currently working on that.
