The NCAA has never penalized UT for this matter. Maybe they will declare that the basketball team cannot go to the big dance for the last decade.

Sammy Villegas signed my mini basketball at a football game while I was a kid. I asked him if he would dunk in a game for me and he said he'd do a 360 dunk...never saw that 360, still have the mini basketball.

Should all of these players be removed from the UT record book?

I respectfully disagree the year they were banned because of alleged academic progress despite what the NCAA would say was their gambling ban.

Currie altered his pe? I wouldn't have paid him much for that. Was that like a negative urine screen that should have been positive? Currie was the worst 6'8" basketball player I can recall, even BEFORE he pulled that crap. Or pe.

Don't know if you can really doctor the books.

But, maybe some urinals could be dedicated to them.

Excellent idea. The Antoine Curry Memorial Urinal. I like it!

To me the most disappointing thing is that, of all the players contacted about the point-shaving scheme, which is probably even more than we know, not a single one took the responsibility to put a stop to it.

well at least as far as we know no one tried to read all Stan's emails to see if he knew about this. Although he sure went away and has remained very low profile.

RE: Former UT player sentenced in point-shaving case
Okay, three more miscreants have received their sentences for a betting scheme that maybe began somewhere during the 2003 football season see Blade article, and surfaced in 2007.

Time and time again the University of Toledo has had its name dragged through the mire, and its still not over. Keith Triplett and Kashif Payne must now must wait until April 7, to have their obligatory probation sentences handed out to them.

The wheels of justice for this whole mess have continued to turn at a slothful pace.

Sloths broke the tape, did a lap with the Sloth Flag around their shoulders, hit the podium, heard the Sloth Anthem, got the medal, went home, found work, had babies, raised them, died and their babies had babies and the Feds still have a lap to go.

RE: Former UT player sentenced in point-shaving case
The only former player for whom the government did not recommend probation was Mr. Triplett, a graduate of Bowsher High School and UT's fourth all-time leading scorer. Mr. Helland alleged Mr. Triplett recruited other players for the scheme and remained uncooperative with the goverment's investigation, and said he would not recommend but had no objections to a sentence of probation.

My opinion - Triplett deserved jail time.

Maybe if we were in a bigger conference. The federal government doesn't even respect the MAC.
