Never ever forget how Finch was let go then look what the Tigers got and it took a few years to even sniff the N.I.T. after that. Chill time Pastner haters let him have one more for he has earned it....

It doesn't appear he's getting fired this year anyway. So whatever, Let him enjoy the hot as seat next year, fine.. coaches get fired all the time.. firing 1 who didn't make any post-season tournament after paying him 2.65 million dollars wont deter anyone. The majority of the universe understands that if you come here and don't make a S16 in 6 years, you should and will get fired.

I think he already has another year. The fact is he's positioned himself pretty well right now---Wanted by PAC12 Zona team, and a good contract at Memphis, not to mention Lawsons coming in and most players returning.

We'll see what happens. I wonder how fast the decision will come and if Zona STate is after any coaches that are still in the Dance.

to have a 7th shot at proving that what you saw the prvious 6 was not a true enough same size. I guess Pastner's law of averages would have to move in his favor, unless you consider that 31-5 season with a blowout loss to Mich state to be the good season in the law of averages theory........

Of course it is. Personally, I've come to the very reluctant conclusion that the well is so poisoned here, and CJP's coaching ability so in question, that he won't get it done here.

But I would love to be wrong, which is what separates me from those who hate the guy like it's a religion, and think they have open season to bash anybody who supports him. They don't. And most use aliases to do their dirty work.

You got Tic Price because RC Johnson was doing the hiring.

His short list was Steve Robinson, Ricardo Patton and Tic Price.

He wanted to hire Leonard Hamilton after Cal left.

It's not a birthright to be the memphis coach. He must be given one more year? He has had six of them. Guys get fired after two and three years. The gig is up time to move on. I imagine he will get this last year but to say he deserves it or must be given another year is silly. Please don't give me his record vs. the C-USA as your basis for his deserving another year. Anybody on this board could have coached the talent he had and won as many games against those sorry teams. When we play real teams with real coaches the evidence shows he doesn't match up. Unfortunately we prob have to endure one more year of him but it's pretty clear that most fans want to go in another direction. Pastner should jump at any opportunity he gets to coach elsewhere.

In his first 6 years as a head coach, he goes 90-72. His post season consisted of two NIT appearances.

He now makes about $7milion a year.

Point being, I'm not sure anyone really has a handle on determining a coach's ceiling after his first 6 years.
