Exclamation Update from AAC spring practices
Memphis spring practices have been good. Fuente says both sides of the ball got a long way to go execution wise but likes the effort the team is putting out. Lynch is progressing and defense is finding themselves. Defense may not be as big as last year but they are faster and Memphis should have it tweaked enough to adjust to players. Fuente feels good about the experience he has on the front seven and secondary. It's just a matter of reps and them bringing the new kids along.

That is the Memphis Pratice report as of now.

The dude that started at QB against Penn state last year is now a slot receiver. So that's a thing.

I don't hold grudges..... But he was the reason we didn't go to an access bowl. If Holman played the entire game, then we win.

However, maybe it was a good thing we didn't go to an access bowl because I don't believe our team was good enough last year to compete at that level.

RE: Update from AAC spring practices
Best news of the entire offseason for ECU is former all conference DL Terrell Stanley, who was in a serious car accident and missed all of 2014, is back full go at practice.

While UCF might have won that game in Dublin if Holman had started...that one loss didn't keep UCF out of the Access Bowl...as Holman was the starting QB in other UCF losses to Missouri and UCONN in 2014.

RE: Update from AAC spring practices
The news coming out of USF so far are:
1. Flowers its playing as the #1 QB and from reports has improved his passing to the point he is beating White so far. We shall see in Spring game and in the Fall if that holds out.
2. The defense is looking good and aggressive in the 4-2-5 system
3. Offense playing a faster pace with more spread looks is also looking better.

Of course in the Spring everything sounds good for every school.

ECU

Kurt Benkert & JUCO darkhorse Blake Kemp are battling for the starting QB spot. Benkert is getting the majority of the reps with the 1st team.

Chris Hairston looking like the main guy at RB.

Offensive line looks to be a strength this year.

Holman was the reason we didn't go to an access bowl. He sucked in the spring and quite frankly the lack of touch hurt us in games. Now the oline is why we couldn't compensate with the running game

Update from AAC spring practices
Our spring game is April 18th. The dline looks good and oleary has enough talent that he is threatening kids if they make the same mistakes this year. They are hitting hard. Our early enrollee Taj Mcgowen has looked great.

Tulane held their spring game on Saturday March 7th. There is nothing remarkable or positive to report about the performance of players on both sides of the ball. You can count on Tulane being an easy win for any team facing them next year. -Lou Holtz

The loss to uconn didn't help.

RE: Update from AAC spring practices
Spring Game is April 18, first time in 5 years. Jones didn't hold a spring game. Most talk coming out of practice is "coach speak", but we have nowhere to go but up. Last years QB for our one win, Matt Davis, is competing with Frosh Ben Hicks (highly recruited, in classes already) presently. Changing to a 4-3 defense from a 3-4 last year. Going to be an up-Tempo offense this season. Look forward to Spring game to see who's moved where and how they are adapting to new schemes and coaches. Good recruiting class coming in with 3*/4* receivers who could win playing time.

RE: Update from AAC spring practices
Diaco says there is separation at QB. So that's good. Hopefully no QB carousel this season. Most on the UConn board think that Bryant Shirreffs, a transfer from NC State who sat out last season, is the leader right now. We also got a juco transfer QB, Garrett Anderson from Cali who could possibly leap over Tim Boyle on the depth chart. I really hope both of those guys look a lot better than Boyle.
