So did Mike Heisley, Chris Wallace and Lionel Hollins

IKR?

Tough loss for MR. He was a solid contributor.

Nice find...But totally unfair.

Yes if Pastner lands Payne and he is the same player in Memphis Pastner is probably signing a contract extension instead of being on the hot seat.

But Payne just was not a world beater in High School...It is what it is.

While I would've loved to see Cam as a Tiger, this is one instance of a "lost" recruit that there is not really blame to go round. A great job of evaluation and development by the Murray staff, but everyone else missed on this kid as well, not just Memphis.

Quite right. Now and then a program will luck up into a recruit that makes them look brilliant. DJ Stephens for us, for instance. It happens.

It's not like everybody but Central Arkansas failed to see Scottie Pippen's potential, after all.

The article says that questioning Pastner's abilities is not limited to some on this board.

I think this article speaks of a growing concern that makes Tiger fans nervous. Recruiting is the one thing that Pastner is supposed to have down. It's been well documented the concerns about in game coaching and player development. If he slacks in recruiting, what will that do to the program?

This isn't about talent. It's about drive, motivation and heart. Some people think they deserve things, others go get them.

More about what happens to recruits after they get here. Of course the way these kids are now they won't go some where if they don't think they can get to the NBA

Like they say it's not an exact science, but a repeated pattern is just that, a repeated pattern.

Im gonna use my best impersonation of you: Name me one 5 star that CJP recruited that was a lottery pick.

Just go ahead and extend it to all recruits and the entire first round...
