That report coming out April Fool day. Not likely he will resign, but he should.

The latest is that he hired a firm BEFORE The 2014 season to get rid of football. Announcement was supposed to be in Sept. Firm has ties to UA BOT member. Fix has been in a long long time.

I think that was the Carr report, that in fact was used as an excuse to do what they wanted. The new report due early April is to see if that Carr report was valid, and many think it will be a repudiation of that original report.

At least that is my memory of the events.

The firm chosen to review the numbers was rejected by Watts. He claimed they were biased and couldn't produce an objective analysis. Deadline has been moved to June.

BTW, in case anyone hasn't read it this article pretty much obliterates the Carr report.

Of course, any report the administration comes out with will support the administration's side.

If their admin allowed coaches to recruit AFTER they had already decided to end programs then they need their pants sued off.

Not that I want to see someone go to jail, but how ironic would if they found out there was something seedy going on, possibly illegal, and guys like Paul Bryant Jr. end up in court over a program he has tried so long to get shut down.

One has to be careful about social media assertions these days.

Did you read the CBS Sports story above? That isn't social media. Actual documents presented by a state rep.

Doesn't mean I want to join CBS in defending it in court.

And there is the problem that isn't going away...

Quote: Watts also has come under fire after AL.com released several documents that revealed Watts had already decided to disband the sports in September, despite claiming he didn't know their fates until November. One memo suggested UAB should wait until after the football season to announce the cuts to limit the in-season backlash.

And one of the worst possible outcomes happened for Watts. They were bowl eligible with a young team and new coach.
