RE: Tookie Brown
I think Newman is overrated anyway. Y'all might get him, who knows. Howland is definitely a game changer.

If we still had Powell, I would be all in for that.

RE: Tookie Brown
Quote:Former Mississippi State 2015 signee Tookie Brown announced his plans to reopen his recruitment via Twitter on Tuesday.

Mississippi State signee Brown reopens recruitment

The three-star point guard committed to the Bulldogs in January 2014 and signed his National Letter of Intent last November.

The news of Brown's decommitment comes just over two weeks after former Bulldogs coach Rick Ray was fired on March 21. The 5-foot-11 Morgan County (Ga.) point guard was named Georgia's AAA Player of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to a 24-8 finish.

Brown also holds an offer from UAB.

The Bulldogs have one scholarship spot available in 2015. Five-star point guard Malik Newman is being recruited heavily as a point guard by Ben Howland and his staff. JUCO forward Ray Kasango, a one-time Oregon commit, is also a major target for Mississippi State in filling out its 2015 class.

Wasn't it was said that Kasango was sure trouble for any school who recruited him.

I can't imagine that we would try to sign both Martin and Brown. Take Martin, and then go after the best JUCO or grad transfer 2G available.

No question he's the best available....I just don't see him coming here.

I have zero insight on the situation, but I get why he would be interested & why we'd be interested.

The obvious Pastner/Houston Hoops connection, though it hasn't helped us yet.

All the playing time he could ask for - and shots.

Pastner's record with transfers and image fixing...

and get to play with an elite C and a solid PF. Makes life easier...

Memphis was an option out of HS, why not now?
