Yeah I would actually be cool with Cincy fans if they didn't have this disgusting attitude towards everyone.

ok. So you get to pick from three states, but tobacco road picks from a 40 mile stretch of road. Seems fair.

I absolutely agree 100% that UC fans have been pricks on this board. But this isn't one of those times.

We brought up something that is actually likely to happen. It has been written about by media experts, and it has even been mentioned by our AD Mike Bohn several times. There literally is no boundary between the Cincinnati and Dayton suburbs anymore.

UofMemphis brings up the Jackson thing, which is not even remotely close to the same situation. I can't find any evidence of it being discussed online, and it doesn't even make sense anyway since the two cities are much further from each other. In fact, from what I can tell by dropping in on Google Maps street view, there is nothing but corn and soybean fields for 50 miles between the Memphis suburbs and the outskirts of Jackson.

So while UofMemphis has every right to bring the idea up, we have every right to voice our opinion that it is not anywhere close to the same situation. I don't see what is so awful about disagreeing with someone's opinion. It's not like UC fans would be upset if somehow Memphis and Jackson did get combined into one DMA. It would likely help the conference, so we would be all for it. But there is almost no chance of it happening, and there is nothing wrong with stating as such.

Yep, only UC fans have been pricks, not either of the two douche nozzle Memphis fans you are replying to. SMH

Okay, fine. Throw in ECU, Davidson, Charlotte, and whoever else in North Carolina in addition to UNC, Duke, NC State, and Wake Forest. The tri-state still wins. 3 blue bloods (UK, IU, Louisville) > 2 (UNC, Duke). OSU, Cincinnati, Xavier, Dayton, and Butler > NC State, Wake Forest, Davidson, East Carolina, Charlotte.

I think North Carolina has great basketball. However, you can draw a circle around Cincinnati that is smaller than North Carolina but still has more great basketball programs. What is impressive about both areas is that you could literally make a power conference bus league out of either one.

Oh, I agree 100%. There are lots of pricks on this message board from every fan base. On this particular thread though, no one from UC is being a prick. I guess we can't state facts and reasonable opinions anymore without hurting someone's feelings.

Memphis to Jackson is exactly 1 hour away. Jackson to Nashville is about 2 hours. Jackson relates more to Memphis then Nashville. It is different then Cincy to Dayton.

Again it has to be said that Greenville, NC, is closer to Raleigh, NC than Jackson, Tennessee is to Memphis Tennessee.

Hell DeKalb, Illinois is closer to Chicago (64 miles) than Greenville is to Raleigh and Jackson is to Memphis. I don't see any NIU fans claiming that they are in the Chicago DMA; even though the Chicago suburbs are spreading way out into the corn country that is DeKalb.

From what part of Memphis? On Google Maps, it shows as 1 hour and 20 minutes from downtown Memphis to Jackson. I'm guessing from the eastern suburbs, it's closer to an hour?

From downtown Cincy to downtown Dayton, it is showing as 52 minutes. But as stated previously, there is literally no commute time from the suburbs of Cincy to the suburbs of Dayton as they are now connected. Every exit on I-75 between Cincy and Dayton is now suburban.

I haven't and they are not in the Chicago DMA. But using your logic then they would make a case for it being so.

Yes, I do think it's a bit ridiculous to think that two cities separated by 50 miles of corn and soybean fields could be combined into one DMA. I'm sure I have opinions you think are ridiculous too. There's no reason to get upset about it.

I DID READ THE THREAD. I'm just confirming that you actually believe being an hour from the edge of the suburbs of Memphis justifies Jackson being considered for inclusion in the Memphis DMA. I have nothing more to add to this...

Yeah I would actually be cool with Cincy fans if they didn't have this disgusting attitude towards everyone.

There's a difference between saying "hey, I have to disagree because..." and calling someone's opinion ridiculous...I wouldn't expect Cincy fans to understand that.

Yes, I do think it's a bit ridiculous to think that two cities separated by 50 miles of corn and soybean fields could be combined into one DMA. I'm sure I have opinions you think are ridiculous too. There's no reason to get upset about it.

And I don't go around telling you your ridiculous opinions are ridiculous...please extend the same courtesy to me, thanks.

It's like Cincy fans aren't house trained and don't play well with others.
