But to maintain......for the long while.....it would be nice to win again..

I really think what put you guys on the map (for me and my friends, really) was DeMarcus Ware and the corner... Now I forget his name, that were high first round draft choices.

That was the first time (for me, a casual college football fan that didn't pay attention to much if it wasn't involving my bobcats) I saw highlights of Troy and became interested because of those two.

Leodis McKelvin with the Bills and of course Demarcus along with Osi Umenyora.....really did add a great deal.....and like you said should not be underestimated.......when Osi and Demarcus were the starting D ends for the Probowl one year they had about a 5 minute segment on TV about them both being from Auburn Alabama and playing at Troy....all that was very good press

The first university I mention is a Texas State.

Then I will work my way through Louisiana and Arkansas. Will probably start mentioning Georgia State and App State.

Actually, I don't have to tell anyone who is in the Belt. Folks just say "show those boys in Louisiana how it's done". 05-stirthepot04-cheers

If asked I try to bring up names typical college sports fans in Georgia would most likely be familiar with - App, Troy, the ULX's (if I used "Louisiana" it would confuse the heck out of people), StAte, and of course Georgia State.

ULX ? .....well, I guess you prefer acting like a Louisiana Tech fan

RE: Who's in the Sun Belt.
I am often asked by others what other teams are in our conference, so I rattle off the teams and leave GaSo & App for last. Wow, they say! I bet in about 3 years you and App with 85 scholarships will be able to compete for the Sun Belt football title. After telling them how Southern and App did last year the UCF guys then declared that they should just rename the SB the Southern to Appellations Belt-Way Conference. I just blush and say, come on guys 2 teams don’t make a conference, sheeeeesh.

Appellations - we do have a few wineries in the area just off the mountain.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yadkin_Valley_AVA

Though the US Treasury uses the phrase American Viticultural Area and not Appellation.
