Charges: Obama used US taxpayer funds for anti-Netanyahu campaign
John McLaughlin, a Republican strategist, charged

Quote:"There was money moving that included taxpayer U.S. dollars, through non-profit organizations. And there were various liberal groups in the United States that were raising millions to fund a campaign called V15 against Prime Minister Netanyahu," McLaughlin said.

He noted an effort to oust Netanyahu was guided by former Obama political operative Jeremy Bird and that V15, or Victory 15, ads hurt Netanyahu in the polls. McLaughlin said the Israeli leader rebounded after delivering a speech to Congress early this month, prompting more critical ads.

Of course these charges are alleged but does anyone really think that this would be below Obammy to do this? All one has to do is examine the Administration's actions before and after the election to clearly see its proclivity.

I have no doubt he sent and directed operatives to campaign for the opposition in Israel and also have no doubt he had liberal money flowing that direction as well. I sincerely hope he didn't use taxpayer money as well.

This is what I referred to in a previous thread. The admin allegedly had a group that was in Israel to "facilitate the voting process, etc" but was really just anti Netanyahu. If funds were not used for the specified purpose, then there's a potential IRS issue.

About a week ago one of the chambers announced a bi-partisan commision to look into this. And it sounded like members of both parties were really wanting to look into it.

White House Directly Involved In Trying To Oust Netanyahu Because Obama Wanted Revenge For Congress Speech…

Sounds like the petty jerk occupying the White House.

Quote: The White House was directly involved in an attempt to unseat Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in last week’s general election, during a nadir in ties between the Israeli leader and US President Barack Obama, a senior Jerusalem official said Tuesday.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told The Times of Israel that “it’s no secret” that the Obama administration had attempted to influence the outcome of the election, having been partially motivated by a desire for revenge over Netanyahu’s polarizing speech before Congress earlier this month, which sought to undermine the president’s key foreign policy initiative – a nuclear deal with Iran.

“The White House is driven by three main motives,” the senior official said. “The first is revenge [over the Congress speech]. The second is frustration: It’s no secret that they were involved in an attempt to bring down the Netanyahu government – something that we have clear knowledge of – and failed. The third [motive] is the administration’s attempt to divert attention from the negotiations with Iran to the Palestinian issue.” […]

A series of tit-for-tat exchanges between the two allies in recent months culminated with Obama sternly rebuking Netanyahu last weekend over comments he had made in the lead-up to the vote. Netanyahu was widely panned for an Election Day rallying call in which he claimed that Israeli Arab voters were being bused to polling booths “in droves” by local political groups supported and funded by a “concerted” international campaign to dislodge him.

We have a toddler in the White House. Thank God for Bibi Netanyahu. The adult in the room wins again.

RE: Charges: Obama used US taxpayer funds for anti-Netanyahu campaign
This is another of a long list of things that will be described as a crime by one side and as 'perfectly legal' by the other. The fact is that it likely IS perfectly legal, and though it certainly isn't as bad as OTHER forms of 'regime change' that we have supported over the years, it is likely among the worst things we've done to a 'friend' in recent memory... and certainly not something that one would associate with the person whom we elected in 2008.

Of course, I long ago said that 'talking' about politics and criticizing others for their 'bad acts' is easy to do... and that is what swept Obama into office... and yet we continually discover that he is more like all of those politicians he said he 'wasn't' than anything else.

right... not saying that makes it okay... In fact, it makes it worse....

but as a group, we need to take all those stupid things that republicans spend our money on and all those stupid things democrats spend money on and TAKE THAT MONEY AWAY FROM THEM.

The best way to increase the amount of money available for things like defense and social security and assistance and job creation is to 'starve' all of these stupid things.... and NOT to simply try and find ways to take more from one group so you can give it to another.

Well, he wasn't going to use his own money. I don't see that it's any different than trying to overthrow a government in a central american country simply because we didn't like it - except that this was mild by comparison.

Mild in one sense, but more aggressive than even Bush in Iraq in another.

At least Netanyahu is a democratically elected leader in a reasonably fair election. We may not like what he has to say, but if he represents his people without intimidation, who are we to ACT EXTERNALLY to displace them?

It seems to run specifically counter to what kind of leader Obama said he was.

The next "payback" for Obama is pushing through the Iran nuclear deal no matter what.

His hatred of Israel and Bibi know no bounds.
