RE: How far is the AAC from a 4 bid league like C-USA 1 circa 2005?

This year SMU was only a 6th seed while winning both tournament and regular season. I think for the AAC to hope to get more than a 3 bid league, it will require the top teams at least be a 3 seed. I am not sure if the top team is a 5 seed or lower, how many more the committee will let in from that league. It will not be enough to have tournament capable teams, but the league will need to have at least 1 flyer to help it get respect. 4 Team conferences with teams with less than 5 losses, ACC (3), BE (1) B1G (1) P12 (1) SEC (1). Looking at single digit loses ACC (4), B12 (3), B1G (2) P12 (2) SEC (2)
Ehh. We can be a 4 bid league with some scheduling tweeks. UConn and Memphis will rebound next year. The rest of the league should either improve or at least be equal. I'd like to add Witchita to provide extra depth to the league, but even with out that depth---I think we can regularly be a 4 bid league.

The problem is not going to be getting 4 teams in normally, it will be getting beyond four teams. If Syracuse did not self ban this year, there would be no talk of Temple being the last team out, it would be Dayton.
The odds are there will be no additional slots and more likely 1-4 less bids less next year for Non Power Conferences. The committee philosophy should not drastically change with an ACC and MAC rep coming on and MWC and CUSA rep going off. I think we saw with UCLA P5s will expand not contract.

if only Tulsa didn't lose to that D-II team, and if Temple had beaten SMU in the AAC tourney...such is life.
that's how close the difference is between 2 and 4 bids....
