Doubt it. The baseball team is vastly overrated. If it weren't for Baylor, we'd be the worst team in the SWC again.

If the only thing to hang your hat on is not losing a home series to two borderline top 25 teams, you don't deserve to be ranked.

This team has he mental toughness of a sea sponge.

Nope, our first four losses were because of errors...we are still losing because we are fielding like Little Leaguers. And many of the errors are from experienced players who did not play this way in the past. They seem to be head cases now....hard to imagine!

I missed the game, but based on the box score I stand by my prediction from last weekend. I predict that Fox will not be a starter next weekend.

Congrats to ODU. Sometimes we take so much time badmouthing our own shortcomings that we fail to give out props to the opponents when they do something well.

Just checking on the game while traveling home. Reading thru the posts and glancing at the box score... this game seemed like assisted suicide. A bumper crop of errors. WP's and poor base running. And not getting the hits with men on base. Oh.. and under-performing pitching.
The series is lost.. but Sunday's game will be extremely important to this team. We need to play up to our capability. And we haven't done it on Friday or Saturday. A lot of work to be done. Mainly in the area of mental toughness.
Not the type of team we are used to seeing so far. But still capable.

May I suggest Kikki and Elton?

Musical question #2:
What does the Fox say?
A. KiKiKiKi-Kiki Dee!

That was fun, but Tomorrow... We play baseball.

Maybe we need to try a different second baseman and let Ford be the designated hitter.

The last thing we need is scapegoating. Stainback isn't making all the errors, and he's made some spectacular plays.

Maybe if we have some bunting practice then the defensive woes will sort themselves out

Then we can have some fielding practice and the bunting woes will sort themselves out! I'm for whatever works.

Unfortunately our .961 fielding average appears to be the norm as opposed to an aberration. Of the 108 runs the pitchers have surrendered only 76 have been earned. Adding to our field woes we have uncorked 21 WP's in 25 games and hit 15 batters.

Its not scapegoating as much as shuffling the lineup to help effect change. And that's in general, not saying that Ford should be the only one to move (or should move at all)

No scapegoating allowed. Just win however possible.
