I'm sorry, but that's clearly bull.sh.it. That's why OSU won.

I get the frustration, but I think they won because they were clearly the better team. They had better players at 3 of 5 positions at least. Tough game, unfortunate seed, but that's just how it goes in the life of a "mid-major." More or less, this just shows we can compete in the top 4 of a solid P5 conference.

I wouldn't say clearly the better team. JMU controlled the game for much of the 1st half and was within striking distance the entire 2nd half until the last 1:30 or so. If OSU doesn't shoot 3x as many FTs and we don't turn the ball over with stupid mistakes at the rate we did, it's a much different game at the end. Who knows if we would have won, but I don't think OSU was clearly better.

RE: Women's Basketball Tournament
Great year again for the Dukes. Proud of the team. Next year should be another good one.

We shot too many 3's which is part of the foul issue and we should never have one player shoot 25 plus times(unless they are 21-22 like Bill Walton). And Ohio State is good. And our seeding stunk.

And if Perez doesn't shoot out of her mind, we lose by 20. We can play the if game all day. Yes, there was a large discrepancy in FTA, but I thought the better team won. I also wouldn't say we controlled much of the first half. We started off hot, then cooled and played back and forth with them (usually from behind). I think after our initial lead, we only retook the lead once in the first half.

No shame in losing to that team. I have a feeling those 4 freshmen (including their PGs twin who was out) will be playing in a couple final fours in the next few years.

The lead changed hands at least 10 times during the first half. OSU was the better team today.

Congrats to all of the Lady Dukes. Use the past two years in the NCAAT as positive growing experiences, and come back next year to take that next step.

I'm right there with you. I just don't think OSU was "clearly" better. I don't mean for that to sound like I'm arguing semantics though haha. JMU missed way too many opportunities with missed shots, bad shots, and stupid turnovers. If we play it again, we might get a different outcome. But OSU won and showed itself to be the better team today.

But you're definitely right in that there's no shame in losing to that team. Great season from the ladies and hopefully we can build on it next year and make a deep tourney run.

Could have used some better post play today, and with the graduation of Lady O., KB may be forced into a 4 guard rotation next season. Maybe there's a 6'3 or 6'4" junior college post player KB can sign for some immediate help.

We had to shoot 3s to stay in the game. That Hart girl shut down everything around the basket.

RE: Women's Basketball Tournament
Came away thinking the same as I did after the A&M game last year. First off, very proud of the girls effort tonight and congrats on a great season.

We overachieve relative to the talent and pedigree we are dealt ( when playing the big schools). But the post play killed us against A&M as well as today. Kenny is a better Xs & Os coach than a lot of the P5 guys that we lose to. He does a fine job of managing the overall program and recruits quite well relative to what we're offering. They just have a better, more glamorous product to sell and can get better players. And it really becomes noticeable in games like today when their center scores 20 and swats 7 shots away.

Perez, Perez, Perez, man am I glad we have her for two more seasons.

This was the first time I've seen the ladies in person this year. They have some heart. You guys pretty well summed it up. Lets continue to grow our fan support for the Lady Dukes, absolutely deserving.

Anyone have any idea what Tasia Butler will bring to the table next year when she becomes eligible? She's got some height.

I think OSU was a harder 1st round opponent than JMU deserved to play. I also think OSU is better team than people in general think. Someone made the statement this team is better than last year's JMU team. I think last year's was probably a little better, but both teams were very good. Another fine season under Kenny.

More of a wing player than post, think in the mold of jazz but not as explosive.

RE: Women's Basketball Tournament
Disappointing end to a great season by the Dukes. I can't think of anything huge the team did or did not do, but a lot of little things added up to a loss. Watching Kenny embrace Toia at the end of the game broke my heart....I always hate to see the seniors leave.

Did anyone notice the JMU contestant in the shootout during one of the timeouts? None other than former JMU great Andrea Benvenuto! Also in the stands were Kanita Shepherd and former assistant coach Jackie Carson and her family. I am sure there were others but those were the ones I saw.

Thanks to everyone who came to the game or watched it - they appreciate all the support they get. And the band definitely won the battle of the bands! You all are the best.

How many days until the season starts in the fall??????

Got it. So do you think she's starting caliber next season? I'm expecting something along the lines of Mickens, Hall, Gwathmey, Destiny, and Griffin. But I guess that just depends on how players develop and what Butler can bring to the table.

I don't think she's a starter from what I've seen so far but I've been wrong before and players do change, depending on development of griffin brooks could also go small put Jazz at 4 and start Perez. If I still remember we have a post coming in and a pretty decent guard too, could also see the possibility of some transfers out of the program too, besides Haley the recruiting class didn't see much playing time due to injuries and development.

I was at the game yesterday and although we lost, it was a great game to watch. I agree, we won the battle of the bands- no contest. In the area where I was sitting, the Carolina fans who had stayed for our game after they beat Liberty, were videotaping the band with their phones as they played "Start Wearing Purple". That was a great memory as we captured their Carolina Blue Hearts with that. Great season by the girls and another exceptional job by Kenny. He's the real deal, genuine and has built a consistent winner. He and the women's basketball program is what all of our athletici programs should aspire to in my view.

I felt like we had a showing that the team can be proud of. It was a high scoring game and most everyone played well. Tough calls from the officials out there but we have been through far worse games. Unlike our marketing dept would have you think at times, not everybody wins and it sure was a tough loss. Toia and Lauren have had amazing JMU careers and I hope they stay connected to us - thanks ladies for your contributions to the program and setting the example for how to represent Madison. Some of our other programs could learn a lot by modeling the WBB's program; the staff and their conduct is outstanding, the athletes are amazing individuals, and it has earned some mad respect around the country. Looking forward to next season!

I think you and barkers are correct on that. I was thinking Perez would be the 6th man spark off the bench, but Gwathmey gives us flexibility at the 4. I would say Muff, Hall, Perez, Gwathmey, Destiny/Griffin is a decent projection. Should be good enough to win another CAA title.

Expecting to see more of a 4 out offense next season. A new look to the team with 5 freshmen coming in. I have seen 4 of the 5 in some fashion but haven't seen the 5th. I'm not sure if the replacement for Lady is in the mix. A late JuCo post addition wouldn't surprise me.
