Should be interesting if Buffalo lives up to the hype. SFA and EWU didn't.
Kansas might have a fight on their hands.
This looks like it should be an orderly day.

don't you know- those days where you say it should be an orderly day are often times the days where it's the most chaos. I mean look at yesterday. Going into it, no one thought that 1st set of games was going to be anything and voila 2 14/3 upset specials.

There are usually more upsets on the first Thursday than on Friday. But we won't know which top seeds are having an off day until the games start....

I don't know about that. I mean 3 years ago when we had Missouri and Duke both lose as 2's, that was the Friday.

SFA had a shot to tie in the final minute. They were very much in that game.

14s are very unusual. Not rare like 15s, but pretty unusual.
13s happen regularly.
12s happen it seems like almost half the time. (actually they are only 47-93 vs. #5 but it seems like they win more often-11s have the identical record vs. #6, 47-93)

It's looking like the 5's should be safe this year. This could be one of those years where perspective follows some of these decisions, though. Not just how major-heavy the field is, but how inconsistent and absent the rationales are for seeding. It looks like a pretty disrespectful job to RPI, considering the seeding is virtually all over the place. You have 7-seeds with top 25 RPIs (VCU, WSU, and MSU) sharing the line with a school in the 40's (Iowa), SMU's a 6-seed holding both a regular season and conference tournament championship to their name (from a conference that got hosed a bid) and a RPI just outside of the top 10, while the MVC runner-up and tournament champ UNI sits with a 5.
There really wasn't any reason to cheer if you were a mid-major this year. Other than Gonzaga, and depending on how you classify the Big East, their RPI was irrelevant, while others in the majors were held to almost gospel-like canon.

Belmont might as well forfeit since the refs are calling everything on them. Double bonus for Virginia. Disgusting.

Dang the 7-6 cent for UCI is getting them going for a 2nd year player. Doesn't have the stamina with keep going up and down the court but he has talent and is scoring over Louisville.

He's the reason I picked UCI over L'ville.. will it happen? Dunno.. but I'd feel like a genius if UCI did win :)

If the Irvine player just lets the Louisville player have the ball in the corner with 9 seconds left, the game probably goes to OT. Oh, well.

Did Rick Pitino sacrifice his mistress' unborn baby to the Devil to receive such benefits from the refs? Good grief, first the Wichita State game, the Manhattan game and now this.

Seems to be a trend -- especially for the ACC this tourney.

Another 1-and-done for the Big West reps. So close, yet so far.
Didn't even get a last shot off.
