It's embarrassing.

Lots of Colleges play basketball at city owned arenas, Science Hill doesn't play in Freedom Hall.

Even Kentucky technically plays at a non-campus arena. Rupp is owned by Lexington Center Corporation and is used for much, much more than just UK basketball.

I think the part of the clause in concern is more about the money trickling down to benefit student athletes at Science Hill, not exactly access. If the money trail can be properly handled, I can't see the problem. Aren't a couple of colleges currently playing (or played) at High Schools for a bit? I thought I had heard something about that at some point.

I guess it doesn't work the other way, UH has been playing in Brooks Gym for years.

I assume the football stadium is owned by the school or BOE which ever way Tennessee does it. And that Freedom Hall is owned by the city. If Freedom Hall is owned by the school or BOE and ETSU is playing there without a waiver then I would assume they are committing infractions.

Yep Freedom Hall is owned by the City, the football stadium by the BoE.

Kermit Tipton is a city owned facility operated by Johnson City Schools. It's available for rental to anyone who wants to use it for any type of events.

So, if ETSU is renting the place from the city, then what's that got to do with the high school?

And the school board is being A-holes about the whole thing so it is difficult to get them to agree to anything without getting something in return.

I was thinking about next season but that is a good question. I guess it depends if they can get the details done by then. Will be interesting.

Just ordered my season tickets for this season! I got the Bronze level ($100 each). Excited about finally seeing football played again!

Was there any doubt? It was just the anti-football people trying to stir crap up, that's all it was. An easy issue with an easy fix.

Don't really remember it as people trying to stir stuff up, ETSU was contacted by the SoCon and NCAA saying this isn't going to work, fix it. The Press wasn't supposed to cover that? Yeah some people might have tried to make something out of it but I didn't see much. It does point to someone over in the Dome being a bit clueless about NCAA rules and this is far from the only example.

I wasn't referring to issue itself. However as usual the anti-football people were trying to make something out of nothing on the JC Press site(those people know nothing.), and use this issue to complain some more about something that is already happening.

I think our folks knew all along it was a minor issue and would be worked out. The reporter from the Press should have known or been able to find out that it was a minor issue. To me that show gross incompetence on behalf of the Press.

Trust me, it's not incompetence. Goals #1,2, and 3 for them are 05-stirthepot. That sells papers and gets comments on their website.
