I laughed pretty hard:

Quote:It's like wondering if you want a steak or seafood for dinner. It doesn't matter. Just put the plate in front of me, I'll devour either one.

Maybe one of them actually graduated from High School, none of them actually going to UK. I found the worse UK fans never actually took one class at UK.

RE: UK Board
I used to work with a person who lived in South Lebanon OH. She was born and raised in the heart of UK country. Her entire family bled blue.

The thing is, my workmate, her mom and her brother were die hard U C fans. They wore U C spirit wear to every family function. To say they were proud Bearcat fans is an understatement.

The first time I gave them my game tickets, she cried when I handed them to her.

It can happen.

That's true of many programs' fans; OSU and ND spring to mind immediately.

If Kentucky loses this year, I'll probably be on their boards reading with delight for 4-5 hours straight.

RE: UK Board
I'm always amazed at the money some of these folks spend to follow UK on the road. It's nuts. Some of them don't look like they have a pot to pee in but there they are in row three at the tourney.

Best story I ever heard about UK fans was a family that told their kids they were going to take their tax return and use it to take their kids on a dream trip to DisneyWorld. Then UK got on a run and looked like they were going to do damage in the tourney, so the parents took the money and followed the Wildcats in the tourney. It would suck to be their kid but that same kid will likely do the same to their progeny.

BTW There were Bluenecks behind UC's bench which made me wonder which high $ UCats sold their tickets to Bluenecks? I know if they got tickets they can do with them what they want but if I'm UC that would tick me off to see them sell off their great seats.

After the game was over, lots of UK fans were coming up to us and offering to pay for our ticket stubs in section 117. I decided to stick around for the 1st half of the UK game but a lot of UC fans split. Gradually realized I was hearing some form of mangled english being spoken around me and noticed I was suddenly surrounded by a bunch of chromosomally challenged people dressed up in blue. Watched the Hampton cheerleaders perform one more time, (they were great) and then took off.

There fans are a very strange breed. Most didn't graduate from UK much less go there. We know people who graduated from EKU who are diehard UK fans. Must be very frustrating for EKU Athletics.

The UK fans I saw behind the UC bench were there for the whole UC V PU game so they must've bought the tickets form hi $ UCats. Very very disappointing that supposed UC fans/donors would sell those great seats to non UC fans.

If I wanted to be abused, ridiculed, and have my team diminished, I can just go over to the AAC board...

I went to Miami. So did 5-6 of the longest tenured posters on this board. All Ucats. Heck, one is a guy who pitched for Miami baseball.

I was a UC fan before I went to Oxford...not sure why where I went would change that. Not sure why UK or OSU fans should be any different.

Of course, several years later I picked up a couple more degrees from UC.

I understand carrying your love of a team from your youth. My kids do too. Even though they went to SEC schools they still follow the Bearcats AND their alma maters.

EKU students for the most part don't give a fig about Colonels sports. It's all UK all day.

I was thinking more of cave men with cave paintings or smoke signs for the UK board.
But dumb and dumber works too.
