Football Highlight: Kentucky @ Cincinnati 1996
Saw this over the weekend but did not get the chance to post it before. I was at the game that day and remember seeing all the blue shirts in Nippert that day. It was wonderful sending all those bluenecks back home that day with an arse-thumping. FWIW, UK's QB that day was Kentucky hero Tim Couch.

Video not working for me? I remember that game well. East side was full of UK fans slugging down
beers and watching UC dominate. I think Haskins started the game and got knocked out and Couch came
in or vice versa.

Went to that game with my wife as a designated driver since we were expecting our 1st at the time. She dropped me off at Habits in Oakley to hang with the boys for some post game celebration. She's still a keeper.

I was also at that game. I remember being shocked that there were actually people sitting in Shank Pavillion.

Yeah, Couch had been nursing some injuries and came into the game late. I remember walking around the east concourse before the game started in the midst of a sea of blue. My recollection is that there was a full house at Nippert that day.

The first official sellout after the remodel was Purdue in 2001. I was starting my senior year of HS and had never actually attended a game at Nippert up to that point. My first game was Kansas in 1997, the day I moved into Calhoun.

It may not have been a sellout that day, but it was > than 30K for sure.

You also have to remember those were the days when people could walk in and out freely throughout the game. Who knows how many people were that at any given time.

I will say a good portion of the sea of blue that was there for kickoff was not there by the time the 4th quarter rolled around.

I hope UC puts up videos of the Wisconsin and Syracuse upsets in the late 90's/early 2000's when the students stormed the field. I used to make the scoreboard every year running the field after Wisconsin.

IIRC I read Tommy G post on twitter in the past couple mos. that they just got access to a lot of the old stuff from the 90s.

I would definitely expect to see some Wisky footage from 1999 (and in 2000 when we kicked their arse all over the field only to see Minter screw the pooch).

I remember it well. I had as a business guest a former UK DB and Assistant Coach. Couch barely escaped alive. It was great!
