If I ran a basketball team, I would build it around rebounding, free throwing, and purchasing the refs.

The PAC 12 is always overlooked becuase the majority of their games are so late most people are already asleep. Some people believed that UCLA didn't even deserve to be in the dance and here they are in the Sweet 16 along with Utah and Arizona.

Oregon made it to the round of 32.

They didn't deserve to be in the dance regardless of whether they make it to the final four.

I didn't think Indiana deserved to be there. UCLA was on the bubble like ODU, Temple, Colorado State and Murray State. UCLA played well down the stretch and they have talent. I think Indiana and UCLA got in because they are from P5 conferences. I think a school like ODU did not get in because the overall quality of CUSA. Eight of the 14 schools in CUSA had RPI's over 200. There were no schools in the PAC-12 with an RPI over 200.

UCLA didn't even beat a top 100 opponent a month before the tournament. There was no justification for the "playing well down the stretch" excuse that the committee used.

Yep, I only saw UCLA play one game, when they beat UAB and they looked like a tournament level team but you should have to beat somebody during the season and earn it not just lose a close game to AZ in your conference tournament.

UCLA started off 8-7 and went 12-6 the rest of the season. That included four top 100 RPI wins. The Big Ten was ranked #4 in conference RPI and got 7 schools in. The SEC was ranked #6 in conference RPI and got five schools in the tournament. The Pac-12 was ranked #5 in conference RPI. I think the Pac-12 getting four schools into the tournament was fair, considering what the Big Ten and the SEC got in.

Exactly. UCLA absolutely deserved to be in the dance and they proved it by reaching the Sweet 16.
