Like Valpo-Ole Miss back in the day, the coach's son hits the game-winning shot to pull the upset.

Texas wasn't expected to do anything but the Iowa St loss hurts. I don't think you will find many Big 12 fans crying that Scott Drew and Baylor lost.

Coaches and fans across the Big 12 do not like Scott Drew. ESPN Waco radio host was going off on Baylor fans and their "sense of entitlement" on my way home from work.

That's nice and all but the big 12 has been called the best conference in the country during the regular season. Some folks want to downplay the Tournament in terms of disproving those claims. If the Tournament doesn't downplay a conference then what possibly can? So what if the conference played each other hard during the conference season.

In the end you HAVE to get it done in the tournament. Plenty of folks, including big 12 fans have taken shots at The Big Ten over that. Well, the same is now true for the big 12.

I know Texas had a lower seed than Butler but they looked bad, real bad. That shouldn't be the case at Texas. Those boys had the athleticism to absolutely crush Butler yet they played soft.

I don't think Big 12 fans were claiming greatness and I don't recall Big 12 fans laughing at the Big 10. That said, the media was wrong about the Big 12 which shouldn't be a surprise.

Texas has all the money in the world and they massively underachieve in the 2 major sports the last 4-5 years.

Good job GA State. Helps atone for the football team this year. But better times are ahead and probably an eventual conference jump up the G5.

RE: Georgia State slays #3 seed Baylor !
Gimme a break regarding three games determining the Big 12 was a joke. Baylor led that game by 12 with 2:30 minutes left and was the (clearly) better team nearly all game. Don't get me wrong, Baylor choked and Georgia State earned that win in those last few minutes by making clutch shots and forcing Baylor mistakes. But that doesn't mean that the Big 12 is overrated. Texas was expected to lose. Baylor was expected to win and was doing so with a small amount of time left. Iowa State got upset. It happens every year. ND barely hung on as did UNC but there is nobody claiming the ACC was overrated and the difference between their winning margin and ISU/Baylor's losing margin is a whopping 4 points.

On top of all of that, I don't remember anyone crowing about the Big 12 being the best. In fact, I remember distinctly saying myself that the Big 12 was one of the deepest but not necessarily the best at the top. Several analyst said the same.

And, again, major props to GaState on the win. That three with 3 seconds left was one of the things that makes the NCAA Tournament so magical.

The game was within 5 points for what? 30 or 35 minutes? Your players thought they had this won walking in the building and they were wrong. We have some damn good players and America is discovering that this week. And we had 20 ppg sitting on the bench.

You do have some damn good players and I'm not dismissing that by any stretch. But when you are winning by 12 with 2:45 left and you end up losing, it's a choke job.

There's no reason Texas shouldn't be in the Sweet 16 two out of every three years. Talk about a waste of resources.

I fully agree. IMO Rick Barnes time in Austin needs to come to a close. He can pick and choose athletes for Texas every year. With the resources he has available, he should be in the Final Four nearly every year. Since he's not able to do that, the Longhorns need to find somebody who can.

Texas had the complete athletic advantage over Butler, yet the Bulldogs beat them by near double-digits, that stems now to poor coaching and usage of resources.
