Nice win for them today, nothing else than 15 minutes of fame. They will still draw 1500 fans to their games at home in Atlanta.
They are the definition of irrelevant.

Irrelevant for football maybe, but not for basketball. They're actually a pretty good squad with a good head coach. When they were in the CAA, you could see that they were a team that would develop into an NCAA tournament team. Ron Hunter is a good coach and his son RJ is the real deal, as we saw with the game winning deep 3 today.

I wouldn't discount their basketball program just because they're a joke in football.

Ron Hunter is a solid coach but RJ Hunter was a high major talent who decided to play for his Dad- a program like Georgia State doesn't land a player like that if his Dad isn't the coach. Guys like Ware and Harrow transferred in to play with him. Now that Dougie Mcbuckets has graduated from Creighton how did they do? Even Alford's son was instrumental in their win against SMU today. Bryce Drew at Valpo, etc. there is a long history of talented kids playing for their Dads. Back in the day I was surprised that Jason Capel didn't play for his Dad at ODU - Jeff started at Duke when Jeff II was finishing up at NC A&T but can you imagine if those guys played at ODU back during the Odell Hodge era- that would have been something.

Hilarious comments are hilarious. Maybe check out who is coming back and our last two recruiting classes.

Exactly. I understand laughing at GA State for football, but y'all's basketball is solid and we knew it would be solid when GA State was in the CAA. They're an above average team playing in an average to below average conference. This will not be the last time we see them in the NCAA Tournament. They're only going to get better, especially after the upset of Baylor.

That center for UC Irvine is humongous. 7 foot 6 inches. Makes everyone around look like midgets.

Terrible no call there. Obviously a foul by running through the guy.

Reminds me of Gheorghe Murishan (spelling is wayyy off) that played for the Bullets back in the day 7' 7". This guy is more athletic than old Gheorghe.

Panama --

I doubt anyone on here, including myself, purports to be a GA State expert at this point, but I've seen several mock drafts for 2015 showing Hunter going in the first round. Additionally, Ryan Harrow, their leading scorer, is out of eligibility. When I looked at your last two recruiting classes on ESPN's site, none of the players were rated. On the surface, it looks like there will be a big drop-off if Hunter turns pro. Perhaps you have some impact transfers waiting in the wings?

RE: NCAA Tourney
Having watched the tourny- all different seeds from all different conferences I think the one thing that jumps out at me is quickness and motor. That's what IMO JMU could use a little more of- Curry has it, McLean has it even Dimitri showed some of it late in the season. Some may have to do with guys who are still learning the game and figuring out where they need to be on the court (JMU has a few guys who picked up basketball late), it could be a physical strength/intimidation or confidence thing , or it could just be the athletes they are recruiting but I think they could use 1 or 2 more energy motor guys on the team.

RE: NCAA Tourney
I'm noticing really good defensive teams. Something we haven't been in a long time.
