RE: Obama: Maybe it's time for mandatory voting
I'm kind of surprised that nobody mentioned one of his other comments.

He basically said (paraphrasing) that we should make voting easier but what is happening is that the push seems to be towards making it harder.

IOW, he is saying that the evil GOP wants to keep people from voting but he wants everybody to vote - heck he's probably for eliminating voter registration, but won't say it. Come one, come all.... He's probably pretty sure that (as Crebman said) the 'ignorant' vote will go D. Still shooting for that permanent D majority.

As we all know, half of all people are below average........

Obama: Maybe it's time for mandatory voting
Just an absolutely horrible idea. What is it with this president and his wife FORCING people to do or not do ****. This crap really f'n pisses me off. So they'll happily force someone to vote but heaven forbid we force someone on welfare to look for a job.

Dumb. I remember when I took a Political Science class, they tried to say that voting was a duty. Not a right, a duty.

IMO if you're not interested enough to vote, you're not interested enough to vote for the person that's actually in your best interests. So you might as well stay at home and not water down the vote of people who care.

Obama doesn't understand what it fundamentally means to be American.

Maybe we should "limit" voting based on IQ.

Sweet.

Over 140, you get three votes.

120-139, you get two votes.

100-119, you get one vote.

Under 100, you don't matter.

I actually kinda like the idea. But I would also like the polls for early voting to stay open later than 5 pm. Early voting polls should be open from 7am to 9pm. This would help me a lot.

Unless early voting is 1 day long where you live, you shouldn't be making excuses for WHY you can't vote early.

RE: Obama: Maybe it's time for mandatory voting
Its interesting to see who thinks about what is best for American and who thinks what is most convenient for them personally.

I think people voting from their couch is the worst idea I've ever heard of. But all we seem to need to say now is "its coming, get ready" so its accepted as a good idea and "progress". Its not. Voting for POTUS should NOT be as simple as a tweet. I don't like the idea of millions of people voting in their underwear, covered in Cheetos dust and not having had a shower in 3 weeks. Its just a little bit more important than tweeting or posting on facebook and I think we can give it a bit more respect than that. Some people that don't want to leave the house to vote have no problems leaving the house to buy beer, weed, or go to a bar on a weekly, sometimes DAILY basis. But somehow voting twice a decade is just too much of an inconvenience. Whatever.

I wish everyone would be informed and vote, but too many are TOTALLY uniformed and have no clue who to vote for beyond who those around them SAY they should vote for. If you are willing to be completely ignorant of politics every day of your life but them go vote for POTUS, I think you are doing your country a great disservice.

I call 110% total BS on this. In home and mandatory voting are TERRIBLE ideas.

lol

Works for me. I recently took 3 different IQ tests and scored in the high 140's range. 156 on one of them.

I'll take my 3 votes now. 04-cheers
