Relax. IF it comes to fruition (that's a big "if"), it will be our #8 or #9 bowl (10th if we get the access bowl). Its not like our 9th or 10th place team should be expecting to play Michigan in the Rose Bowl. A 6-6 Temple sat at home this year. If your in Little Rock, then your only other option was probably sitting at home.

or almost certainly a p5 bowl replacement

keep in mind the majority of the season temple was projected to play a p5 in a bowl.. but a ridiculous amount of upsets happened

this was one of the largest p5 boowl eligible years, which i doubt will be the regular ..i dont expect every single p5 to fill their 9/11 spots every year on 12/14 member leagues

Im sure we have the option to take a P5 bowl if it opens up. Our top two slots are not promised to any bowl. My guess is that our bowl agreements after #3, #4, and #5 are subject to release if an opening vs a P5 materializes. I know for a fact our Liberty Bowl backup agreement works like that.

Look, this thing is addressing a need. Other than the bowls with P5 opponents, all our bowls are interchangeable. Are the Boca or the Bahama Bowls really that much different? For Houston, Tulsa, and SMU---the most western of our members, the vast majority of our bowl sites are over 1000 miles away. There is just not a lot of interest in traveling 1000 miles to watch a bowl against the #6 team from CUSA, MAC, or Sunbelt. Hell, some people just cant afford it. Put that same game within a reasonable drive, and way more people will make a roadie of it and way more people can afford to make the trip. We need some more western slots and this helps in that regard. As I have said before, my guess is the LRB gets swapped for NOLA in the next bowl cycle. Im fine with that.
