That's Overton Square, isn't it?? Bombay Bicycle Club and Silky Sullivan's just a little further down.

I have fuzzy memories of my years 1978-81 (ages 18-21) as a legal drinking age college undergrad crawling up Madison Avenue. Loved it!!!

1963 even better = 9-0-1 and 1996 = 21-14. Now, THOSE were the days.

RE: Who is old enough to remember this
Hey, Wyli, I also remember 1963, Crump Stadium, Tigers vs. Ole Miss. But 1996 was the BEST!

I remember Overton Square the first time around, 1970. Friday's was a whole new concept restaurant/bar, a bit different from the fern bars. I know the youngsters on here cannot imagine a time there was no liquor by the drink.

Fuzzy indeed. That's Paulett's on the right of the picture. Bombay was to the right while SS was to the far left.

Fun times. The 1972-1976 period at the Square was cool.

I was there, it was a pretty neat place to meet people. I had some good Times down in the Square back in the 70's. 04-cheers

Yep. It has expereinced a wonderful revival but it will never be the 70's. Might be a good thing.
