A New UAB Football Survey
I just received a call with an automated survey on the UAB situation. Five questions about whether UAB should have football, whether UAB was fairly treated by the BOT, etc. - press one if you agree, press two if your disagree.
I'm guessing that Jack and company is conducting either a state wide survey and/or a series of surveys which will be statistically accurate for various voting districts.

With Bentley's arrogance and Watts' letter about basketball, I feel like the BOT is confident Jack won't have the votes. Does anyone feel this way or this just me being depressed?

Question: Is there video of Bentley making that comment about the football team to the nursing students?

I believe that if we get closer to the point where we could get a vote the BOT & company would attempt to do something to appease everyone.
Bentley said what he said because he is a ass and doesn't fear repercussions.
Watts' letter was an attempt to pat himself on the back and tell everyone that focusing on basketball & ending football was a good move.
As long as Watts does bull**** stuff like this, we know that he is on defense.
The minute he stops would be an indication that we are in trouble.

None have been found so far.
Believe me, if it was out there readily available it would have already been put online by Whitmire or Archibald.

In this day and age, it pays to have a phone recorder ready to go.

I suspect that most in attendance didn't expect Bentley to make an ass of himself in that situation.

I think that it is just you being depressed. If they are confident that that Jack won't have the votes, and I don't think they are, it is a false confidence I can assure you. I think that they realize that they are "at war" are they would not have been even thinking of spending $615K on a PR campaign.
We already have a lot of support in Montgomery and we are putting in a lot of hours to assure passage of Jack's bills. Will it be easy, hell no, but no one would have believed back in November that we would have this successful. Our most potent weapon is WE HAVE RIGHT ON OUR SIDE and every rational person knows it.

RE: A New UAB Football Survey
We know the fix is in with the administration and the Board of Trustees, but legislators are more pragmatic. Polling results, facts about UAB, and even things like the reaction to the governor's gaff are gradually showing the reality of the situation, and, when it comes time to decide which side you're on, people are going to remember the nays.
There is a lot of momentum going into this as well. We have lobbyists now, the ongoing drama could actually turnout to be favorable since UAB isn't nowhere as divisive as some of the other issues, and politicians eat up grassroots efforts like nothing else.
The bills are definitely the most leverage we have.
