Makes sense considering the geographic distribution of the conference. I'm hearing lease terms are favorable for the 2016 exit.

It's been posted on the UConn board as well. I'm glad they are leaving Providence but other than that I have no feelings about this one way or the other.

CUSA and Big 12 are there as DFW has easy flights everywhere and the cost of living is cheaper. Doesn't really matter where it is located.

If the headquarters move anywhere, my guess wouldn't be that far west... only 3 of 12 members are even west of the Mississippi. Why go from one extreme to the other? If it moved from Providence, my guess would be NYC... for easier access to corporate and media partners.

It seems like they could have just moved the offices to either Tampa or Orlando, Florida.

True, as long as it isn't Providence.

Two conference HQ's already there. Maybe some synergies can develop from this proximity? At any rate, it couldn't hurt to cultivate some decent relationships with these other conferences. Plus there's a pair of bowls located in the city along with Jerry World playing host to load of major pro and collegiate events. Lots of press coming in and out of the city. I guess Dallas makes as much sense as anywhere else. New York might be the only other place that could be more advantageous---and we don't have a school there. I suppose that means the clam bake could be signing off soon.
