CBI---YUCK
A really uninteresting field this year. Stony Brook/Mercer is the best 1st round matchup. Only one P5 team (Colorado) Oregon State turned it down. Did Memphis?

Tons of teams declining CBI bids in last 30 mins: Cal, Florida, Florida State, Memphis, Minnesota, Penn State, South Carolina, & Tennessee.

One of the Colorado players, Askia Booker, is refusing to play in the CBI.

Quote:CU head coach Tad Boyle told the Daily Camera that Booker, the lone senior on the team, will not play in the CBI.

"That's his choice," Boyle said. "I accept it and we're going to move forward. It's an opportunity for other guys to step up and show what they can do and improve themselves and hopefully do it over a period of time."

Clemson supposedly informed them over the weekend we wouldn't accept a bid. We turned them down a few years ago as well.

Purdue turned them down last season because we sucked worse than the year before, this year we're in the tournament.

The CBI and CIT have always been garbage to a certain extent. At least the CIT has the claim of being for mid-majors. If the CBI can't get P5 and next level conference teams to join, it'll become even less relevant, if that's possible.

Yup - CIT was started for the mid-lower conferences that couldn't get their second/third etc teams in a tourney, but are still good teams.

CBI went after brands - taking P5 schools with losing records.

the player's choice? No wonder Colorado isn't any good.
