On a somewhat related note, if you don't have cable get SlingTV. Will he great for football season. $25month will get you ESPN, espn2 & espnu including watchesn access.

Totally worth it.

Yeah looks really promising. Also worth noting that there are no contracts and you can suspend/cancel service at any time. Obviously this means you can get it just for football season if you want. I'd get it if my cable service wasn't bundled with my internet right now. I would probably end up getting screwed if I cancelled the cable portion.

Here is Dish's Sling TV offerings.

Sling TV will cost $20 monthly for about a dozen live TV channels, including ABC Family, Cartoon Network, CNN, Disney Channel, ESPN and ESPN 2, the Food Network, HGTV, TBS, TNT, The Travel Channel and Adult Swim.

Tried the SlingTV 7-day free trial for March Madness (TBS & Tru-TV access). It was beautiful. Will be great for football season getting all the ESPN channels.

I'm in the process of figuring out my cable/internet setup. I'd like to cut the cable cord since my Comcast bill has gone from $80/mo to $125/mo after my bundle deals recently expired.

The problem is that I'm going to keep their internet because it's (sadly) the best provider available. If you have Comcast internet you might as well bundle it with a cable package because it's probably the same price as ONLY internet for at least 12 months. What a bunch of nonsense.

Does this mean I can watch ESPN3 on my big screen television and not just on my tiny computer screen?

DIRECTV customers now have access to WatchESPN
I watch the games on my phone and I love it. I can now see all ESPN programming no matter where I am. I was sitting in the Convo and watching the game on my phone. I had to stop because there is a delay of a couple minutes on ESPN. Plus, my wife thought I was completely nuts.

I know Dog Fan is posting his usual mocking commentary but I'm honestly not sure if you're serious.

Call Comcast and on the menu go to cancel services. They'll put you through to someone and then complain about the constant price increases and other things. Got my bill reduced about 30 bucks and have showtime and HBO for free for I think 6 months. Comcast usually throws some BS charges in their bills that they'll wipe clean for not problem.

Yeah I've heard it's not much of an issue. I read about a guy who showed up at his local office with his equipment and told them he wanted to cancel. Walked out with like digital economy, 105 mbps internet, HBO+showtime for $65/mo with no contract. I'm sure his bill started randomly going up and he had to deal with that but it was probably worth it.

No, I am completely serious. I admit that I was wrong in my initial assessment of ESPN3. It is a vehicle to get coverage for sports that are not televised. Now, most of our men's and women's home BB games can be seen on ESPN3. Not only is this great for fans, but parents of the athletes who cannot be in DeKalb can watch their kids play. This is excellent! Plus, the NIU productions are fantastic. This is all due to the new contract with ESPN. While I think that contract is bad for football, it is great for all other sports. I've seen NIU gymnastics and wrestling on ESPN3. These are sports that would never be televised.

Yes, I did watch the game while I was at the game. Maybe my wife is right and I am nuts!

I have a Roku streaming device and get WatchESPN on it. Works great watching all the ESPN3 offerings and it is free other than upfront Roku cost[/b]
