Just about everybody is hating on UC fans on the AAC board now.

Lots of ******'s are being used to 'hide' name calling.

There is a lot of anger, jealousy, envy - whatever you want to call it.

Some UC fans are egging it on. It's getting to a lot of people on the main board.

You can thank Rath and I for that.

We hit them with reality rocks and that shattered lot of fragile fantasy houses.

Puckhead, Bigeasthomer, and defconnone have some talent.

Almost akin to OSU/UK levels.

We hate the AAC because it was a major down grade for us all around. The down grade was especially harmful to us because we fought so hard to elevate our football and to rebuild our basketball after a self-inflicted Death Sentence. Moreover, we know face a situation where the small private school in town is making more on their TV contract than we do (without football) and for the first time, is in what is considered to be a better conference than us.*

What we have to remember is that to the other schools this is a major upgrade. These others schools have doubled their TV money, have 100% more exposure on television, play in better bowl games, play better basketball competition, etc. They really don't undertand what we are complaining about.

* This applies to Temple and Villanova to, but truthfully Villanova has long been considered the better program and was in the Big East as a full member since 1979

Some of those guys are just spoiled toddlers with potty mouths throwing a tantrum. When they tire out and realize how ridiculous they look, ask if they are all finished while chuckling.

Really? THEYRE the ones acting like OSU and UK fans? From what I've seen over the past few months over there, I'd say its some of us who have learned from our big brothers. Its a shame too, considering how much WE despise being treated like that.

Look, when you see the same 2-3 guys in threads rabidly questioning UCs bid in the tourney this year, you are not dealing with guys with a full deck.

Re-read some of their posts, I singled out those three due to their language and content of their posts. Of course I saw what a few of "ours" posted, and yes some were no better. Yes, there are members of this board that have/are acting like you say, which I agree with you, is a shame. Those three just took the thread to a whole new level, that's all.

2 of those 3 hit that board for a jousting match. There are a couple Memphidiots and 1 ECU guy in particular that do as well. All of them are in those threads. Homer just sees any criticism of the league as a personal insult. He probably means well other than going knives out for any knock on the ACC or facts about our standing.

You want to see something truly not for the faint of heart, go to the expansion board and lob in a grenade.

Two random points...
1) At least one Memphis poster has linked this thread to bolster his slamming of Cincinnati. It's always good to remember that these threads are public.

2) A USF fan has started a thread telling SMU and UC to "Go get our credits." (On the heels of the Temple argument that UC did "nothing" for this conference, one cannot help but laugh.) But this is yet another dimension as to why I dislike this conference so. Granted, EVERY conference shares in the NCAA basketball credits, but to have some fan of another team that was nowhere near the tournament saying "Go get OUR credits..." just rubs me the wrong way.

Perhaps I should be just glad that he is pulling for UC, even if it is merely for his own self-interest.

Just emphasizes, imo, how the bus was missed in merging the top teams in this conference with the Boise, SD St from the MWC (pull thse two and probably could have pulled a Colo St and New Mexico).

Even if the money wasn't there initially, that type of a conference I think would have stood a much bettter chance of creating monetary value down the road.

Too bad there wasn't someone who could have sold the vision of longer term. The short term money both these conferences make pale in comparison to what could be made, imo.

They are on this board anyway and read other threads on here being critical of their programs and the league - the massive realignment thread on here with daily posts wishing to get out of the AAC being one of them.

There are plenty of UC fans being critical of other programs and the AAC on the main board.

I just think the league tournament, the lack of bids for the league, and other factors have made the main board a place for UC to take most of the heat right now. I suspect it will die down some after the tournament is over.
