Was just looking over last season's scores and saw where you guys lost 4 games by 3 points. FIU was improved big time last season.

I believe we return 18 starters from last season. 2015 will be an interesting year.

Hah I just said the same thing in another thread. Phil Steele says we return 16, but tbh we return 18 as said above, as a couple of young guys held down starting jobs by the season's end. FIU was a FG away in 4 games from going 8-4. I know, I know, ifs and buts... I think the most important part is getting a year of experience to our QB who played as a true freshman in all 12 games last season, starting 11 of them. Also our starting RB for the first 8 games was a true freshman before getting injured. Another key piece was getting Richard Leonard to stay at FIU and not declare for the draft. I think Leonard has to be the pre-season favorite to win C-USA defensive POY. Ask FAU what they think about him 05-stirthepot02-13-banana

RE: How many starters does FIU return for 2015?
My FIU brethren are wrong. We return two starters only, and we should be picked dead last. I don't want people to think that we may be ok. Shhhhhh! Who's Leonard?

Seriously now, I think we only lost one starter of note (our safety Perkins). The other losses should be easily replaceable. The replacements may even be upgrades in some cases (hopefully). I think the season will be boil down to whether we can finally assemble a decent to good OL and get some good QB play in there. If this happens then we will have a very good season. If not, you are looking at a 5-win season based on the defense and running game (and last year's performance). Not saying we should be picked at the top of the C-USA list but I think many of you don't see the complete turnaround that has happened here since 2012. Turner is making believers out of many here in Miami.
