Excellent news. He's not going to find a role as a lead back, so this is ideal. He will make a nice change of pace with Bell. Plus, Bell will miss some games. Hope it was a big contract. Guessing it's only 1 year guarantee at this stage of his career.

Bell is likely going to be suspended for the first 2 games of the year because of his marijuana arrest in this past preseason. DeAngelo will serve as their 3rd down back once Bell is back and ready to go. It's a tremendous fit for both sides.

Hate to burst your bubble but Bell will be the 1st down, the 2nd down, the 3rd down and, when they decide to go for it, the 4th down back. Bell had 83 catches for more than 850 yards. No way he sits on 3rd downs. Williams will get in the game when Bell's legs are about to fall off. With Bell and Brown the last thing the Steelers will be doing is changing pace

Hate to burst your bubble, but I have forgotten more about the Steelers than you will ever know. The Steelers are not signing him to sit on the bench. He will have a defined role. You can bet on that.

3rdgenerationtiger is correct. Williams will be used when Bell needs breaks during the course of games. Not saying he's not going to get touches either. I can see him getting 5-10 rushers per game. At the same time, he'll see the field if/when Bell gets hurt. I hope he thrives here in the 'burgh.
