There may still be hope for ODU. I say this because when UAB got to play in the NCAA Tourney's First Four in 2011, no one has us projected to be in the tourney. And I mean no one!!! If memory serves me correctly, UAB was in the next four out. So it could be possible for ODU to sneak in although Wyoming became a roadblock of sorts.

Really need SMU to beat UConn today.

I think ODU should get in. But I just don't see it.

The one thing I'll say is that 2011 is probably the most outlier committee that we've seen. They had like 5 14 loss teams in the tourney that year- the other 9 years had like 2 such teams.

I'm at work this beautiful Sunday morning. The TV in the break room is on ESPN's talking heads dithering over Indiana and BYU. I swear I heard Jay Bilas say that the selection process was skewed toward mid-majors and away from the power conference teams. Just thought I'd share that.

A VCU win today wouldn't hurt the cause. However, it's looking like the NIT for CUSA teams, I hope Tech can steal a home game

I think we'll see all kinds of at larges from outside of the "power 5" this year. BE, AAC, A10, MW, MV, WCC all will probably have at larges. We could. Murray could get in. It should make for a fun tournament.

Dayton is an absolute lock also.

Edit: Never mind, strength of schedule for ODU.

Had we made the final and lost I think we would have gotten an at large. After losing to MT, I don't see it happening.

The only reason UAB got in the First Four in 2011 is because we won the regular season title, had a Top 40 RPI, and a 80th ranked SOS. Basically, the committee wanted to reward a team for winning the regular season.

ODU's Strength of Schedule and finish in regular season will keep them out.

Louisiana Tech would have had a shot, but their SOS is far too weak.

With what happened this week, you'd have probably been a lock had you made it to the semis. I still have a good feeling about this. I think ODU gets in. I don't think Georgia does. There's always one spot most of the country sees as a head scratcher. I think it'll be ODU getting in over Georgia this year.

That's the ultimate question. Did the other bubble teams suck worse than we did this week?

Not a single bubble team helped themselves and there weren't many real bid thieves. Throwing darts at a board. Except this year, there are a lot of darts.

Reading the tea leaves from the first bracket. I don't think it's looking that great for ODU. Indiana and Texas, two teams either on the bubble or out, not even in a play-in game.

Positive note. Commitee loved LSU. ODU beat them. Maybe 4 spots left for ODU to get. You don't want to see UCLA, Temple, Colorado St and a few others

UCLA not in a play-in.

(14) UAB v. (3) Iowa St.

They did say "the first team from C-USA" implying there would be a 2nd team.
