Yes, Go Bulls! Who can't cheer for a school playing in the NCAA tournament for their first time?

Quote: Once the MAC tourney is over we're one big family.
Well, I dunno about that ... that could maybe depend on who it is playing ...

Quote: Hell, I'll be cheering on MAC teams in the CIT.
... lessee, Kent, Bowling Green, WMU in the CIT, EMU in the CBI ...

... OK, I'm in (unless Bowling Green or WMU end up playing Kent State).

I remember the game, many years ago when Reggie Witherspoon and team hosted UNC, before a full house (that was before the remodeling). Awesome support for a losing program.
Wow, you're really going back there. That was Reggie's first game ever. 1999, a mid-season replacement. He was still having trouble remembering the players names.

I remember the game fairly well (the game was on DirecTV).

What a David vs. Goliath atmosphere.

UB was trying to pull off a huge upset before UNC pulled away in the 2nd half.

That's awesome. Wish i could make it to Columbus.

I recall in 2010 becoming quite the Bobcats fan when they beat G-town and made the MAC proud. Hope UB can do the same.

OK Buffs, it is now your turn to carry our torch. Your seeding and draw is about as doable as you could have expected. Bring your A game and win 2 rounds. I am pulling hard for you. Gflash says Horn um Bulls.

RE: We're going dancing
Glad to see the Buffalo is the dreaded 12 seed vs. 5 seed matchup. Now go make the MAC proud 04-cheers

Side notes: 12 seeds are 6-2 vs. 5 seeds over the last two years.

No. 12 seeds have a 44-76 record against No. 5 seeds, a winning percentage of 36.7 percent, since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985.

Since 1985, the only years a No. 12 seed did not defeat a No. 5 are 1988, 2000 and 2007.

this is as about as favorable a path to a Sweet 16 as a double digit seed could hope for. Won't be easy, but the opportunity is there.

yeah 2010 was great! but what was really awesome was 2012 when we beat Michigan AND the first rounds were in Columbus that year too. you should have seen the scene at Nationwide Arena in Columbus when the Ohio game ended. Michigan State was playing in Columbus that year, and Ohio all of a sudden gained fans from OSU and MSU! :-)

I would love to see you beat WVU!!! good luck!

Not sure if it's posted anywhere in this forum but here's the NCAA full seed list, 1 through 68.

Buffalo and the MAC coming in at #48. Thought they'd be a bit higher but it doesn't matter.

You mean you thought they ought to come in at #47? 1-46 are the at-large picks (4x(1-10) seeds plus six 11 seeds) ... including autobids that were on the bubble or better even if they hadn't won their tournament.

#48 is the second best position for autobids that needed to win their tournament to dance ... which suggests maybe that high RPI was good for something after all. This is just about the highest the MAC can hope for unless we push up to the level of having teams on the bubble ... I'm cheering for Buffalo to make it count.
