Bobby Freaking Hurley
Hurley is one of my favorite PGs of all time. Two NCAA titles and he still holds the NCAA career assist record. A tragic car wreck nearly killed him and ruined his NBA carrer.

Hurley got into coaching a few years ago assisting his brother Danny Hurley at Wagner and Rhode Island. Bobby took the Buffalo job last year. Buffalo had never won a conference title; never gone to the NCAA tournament.

This year, his second on the job, Bobby Hurley won the MAC regular season, and tonight won the MAC tournament. I watched the game. They play very fast and very well. At 44, Bobby won't be at Buffalo long. He's a rock star.

He has UB playing good ball. They will be a tough match Round 1. They played Kentucky very close this year.

He's a winner. I don't see it happening, but I would love for him to be the Charlotte 49ers coach.

He returns 80% of his scoring and 70% of his rebounding at Buffalo next year. It's a better situation than DePaul.

And the conference he's in is a 1 bid conference. Big East will be getting 6 bids this year with very possibly no double digit seeds even. DePaul also actually returns quite a bit.

UB has a 4* transfer from Houston (Torian Graham) and another 4* transfer (Maurice O'Field) from East Tennessee State coming next year. Both players had a lot of big time offers.

I'm not doubting that. Just when you're at a school like the MAC- it puts way more pressure on you to win the tourney. 1 poorly timed loss and you are NIT.

not many ACC schools look like they're going to be coming open soon. Maybe Georgia Tech but other than that? I guess maybe Florida St or Clemson.

I could see him go to SJU or Seton Hall

I think the thing that is interesting to him is the success that Wojo has had up the street at Marquette. Wojo was from Maryland, so it's not like he had MW routes either.

Doesn't matter.

Groce at Ohio did a round of 32 in 2010 and sweet 16 in 2012 and moved straight to Illinois. DePaul was considered back in 2010 but with a loaded Cupboard he held out for Illinois after 2012.

If Hurley has the players he's bringing in there is no reason why he can't hold out for a higher level job. UB has a lot to work with in the interim.

The BC job will always be available but it's probably the least desirable of the ACC jobs.

Well he keeps it up he could be the front runner for Duke once coack K calls it quits. There is really no front runner for them IMO, but he will find work no doubt.

He won't be if he doesn't move up the food chain.

I think the favorite may be Wojo from Marquette. Showing that he can recruit at a very high level.

The last coach Duke hired came from Army, don't see much difference.

I think the favorites are Amaker, Dawkins and Brad Stevens (not necessarily in that order).
