Lets face it, Southern isn't a basketball school. This year has been fun to watch but we aren't very good. Of course it would have been nice to win, but it's cool we didn't win. Southern will always be a football and baseball school. That's where our money is and fan base.

There is no such thing as an ugly win if you win the championship. But from the standpoint of a pure basketball fan Georgia Southern, UL, ULM, Texas State and GSU played some ugly basketball this weekend. We have a long way to go as a conference in basketball.

Yeah, this probably isn't what we were expecting when we said to wait till basketball season. Great finish to the Sun Belt season. (Other than the lack of balls going through hoops.)

Congrats Ga. State. You guys did have the most talent in the league this year. I would have still believed that even if we had won. I hope you guys can pull some upsets in the NCAAs.

I am hoping we get some type of postseason this year. For us to go 22-9 in basketball is sort of a minor miracle. I hope these seniors are rewarded with some postseason (NIT, CIT or whatever)

You can limit yourself like this if you want, but it's clear that the Southern leadership and the coaches and players have no interest in this kind of thinking. Byington is a really good coach, and the game plan, despite really helping to make it a low-scoring slug-fest, almost got you guys the win and another conference title.

I have no reason to believe that with your coach, who, according to the broadcast is 38 but looks about 18, lol, will keep Southern pretty good for as long as he's there. That's reason for celebration for ALL basketball fans in this conference. There is nothing to be upset about and everything to be excited about for Southern fans, even if you're not a big hoops fan. Relevance in March is a big deal for any school.

I hope one of the postseason tournaments comes calling for Southern and I hope you win some games.
