With a level playing field Tulsa should not have to worry. But things are not level. Their resume is head and shoulders better than OM who is still being projected as in. Tulsa only bad loss is in a crosstown rivalry game at ORU rpi 170. OM miss had bad losses AT HOME to Carolina Southern rpi 166, W Kentucky, TCU and Vanderbilt.

Bash Pastner thread? Hyperbole much...post some links.

WTF Tulsa!?

Guards man...it's all about the guards. That's why I don't understand why the cupboard was bare this season, and once we knew it was bare, why not develop the one young player with the most potential at PG in Pookie?

How do you see that as a bash Pastner post? It's a legitimate question since Tulsa lost to a Uconn team that has superior guard play. We are not allowed to question the coach now? Did I make any attacks on him other than questioning his reasoning not to play Pookie more since we may be without a decent PG again next season. Quite a stretch from you man thinking that's bashing someone.

So focused on complaining you do not realize Pookie has been out due to illness.

Who else are you questioning if not the coach for not doing the things you said should have been done?

So Pookie has played behind Cunningham in a few games due to illness? He has been ill the last few games, but his minutes dwindled even before that. I'm questioning the coach in regards to lack of guards and guard development for the future and if you think that's bashing, then I pity the world you live in.

Why is he even talking about our coach in a thread about another team? And yes it is.

Dude...do you understand logic?

Uconn made a comeback against Tulsa and won due to great guard play. I wish our team was in a similar situation with regard to our guards this season and now the next. That's it...you are being argumentative now for just being argumentative. No one bashed the coach...it's all in your head.

That could have been said with out the left hand slap at the coach. But you felt a need to put a dig in at the staff for not developing the players as you wanted them to.

Reading comprehension?
There wasn't any dig at the coaching staff other than what you decided to take out of that post. It was simply a wish we had the guards or the staff had developed one of our current guards to be ready for next season.

You brought the coaching staff being bashed into the equation and are now dragging it along.

They split the season series with each team winning at home. The odds favor UConn tomorrow.

Haith does it with the players recruited by a previous coach. He bails when his own recruits start losing. No way would I want him here.

Just to add to this. What has Haith exactly done? That's right he hasn't even reached the sweet 16, yet you want him here.

I swear some of you just talk without any facts to back up what you say

Holy cow I cannot believe Tulsa lost that game. UConn got hot and Tulsa missed everthing down the strech. Tulsa looked to be the better team to me. But those UConn guards made it happen.

Pookie probably was gonna lose more games for Memphis than Pastner could take... Pookie is just not good enough... I can't even compare Pookie to the likes of Chris Garner or Joe Jackson.

We don't know that for sure. The last game Pookie played significant mins was against UCF and he played really well. He has more potential than Kedren. This season was going to be a waste anyways; not developing a PG is going to be detrimental for next season.

Kendren gave this team the best chance to win. Sorry to all the Pookie fans, but that's just the truth.

It's so funny though that the past few years a lot of you were complaining that we don't have any big guards and complained went we only recruit small guards.

We finally have a big guards in Kendren and some of you complain because he is playing.

Don't you think if the coaches thought Pookie gave them the best chance to win he would play?

RE: WTF Tulsa!?
Next season it really is about Kedren tend Pookie.

Will Kedren be ready from the start...be a little quicker, and a little more into it right out if the gate. Will Pookie dedicate himself to adapting to the college game a little better. He had some moments but had some really poor decision moments at really bad times as well. Learning curve, but once Kedren settled a little and Pookie got sick his minutes really waned. Reasonable minds can argue that his minutes should not have waned, but there are only 200 minutes in a game, and down the stretch of the season against better teams Memphis, most of them without their best player, were in all of those games. Next season, Memphis, with their best player and more, will win most of those games.

Hope Pookie is a part of that...along with Broddie, and Crawford, should have a much more ready back court in November...Broddie obviously being new.

Did not see the end of the Tulsa UConn game, but sounded like they bit scared to win...and IConn bit a couple of threes.

I wonder if this recent push by UCONN, even if they lose to SMU today, might get them an at large bid to the NCAA tournament. Sort of a courtesy bid, around a 11 seed, in honor of being defending champion?

Hunch only on SMU. Figure UConn will be on fumes-4 games in 4 days but adrenaline kicks in.

To win what? Have a chance to go into the NCAA tourney? Obviously not as the results suggest. We basically sacrificed potential long term success for possible short term gain that didn't materialize.
