Way Too Early 2015-16 Basketball Thread
Now that we are officially waiting to see who plays where and when, I would like to gauge where we are talent-wise as a conference going into next season. Who do you lose off of your team? Who stays? Who is coming aboard?

ODU loses a lot of athleticism in the front court with Ross and Arledge leaving, but add some much needed size with Peyton Pervier and Brandon Stith. Rumor has it that we are still in the market for another big.

All of our guards will return (barring a transfer), and we add Ahmad Caver to the mix. We also add Aaron Carver and, and will have RS freshman Zoran Talley to join Javonte Douglas as true wing players, (something that we've lacked for a while.)

I predict that UAB will be a year older, bigger, stronger, and better. We only add two schollys to what we have.

We should be pretty good.

And Stapleton. Alex and Eric are good, but X will be the guy for the next few years.

Yep. You should compete for the title in your new conference, whatever that is.

We should be young next year, however, plenty of rising talent. Hopefully Bossier City wins the tourny bid next year so we can steal an NCAA bid as a 4-5 seed

WKU is losing our 3 top scorers but have a solid newcomer in Fredrick Edmonds a juco AA coming in along with a solid freshman pair. Most of our team this year was young outside of our top 3 which should help the transition . Depending on our schedule I expect to struggle early and be solid late kinda like MT or UAB this year

Losing Chip Armelin. The NCAA investigation should soon be over. Hopefully, we don't lose any other players. We had a PG from Dayton sitting out this season. Need to find a big man.

RE: Way Too Early 2015-16 Basketball Thread
As it seems like with Floyd, the offseason is fluid at best. I'm not sure what to expect next year. We lose Washburn, Lang, and Cooper. I guess it all starts with whether Vince Hunter stays or goes. I can't believe that his stock is much higher now than it was at the beginning of the season, so I have to think he stays. There's no way he's a first round pick, and I don't know why you would leave to be a second rounder. If he stays and finds a 15 foot jump shot, we'll be OK. He'll be a force if that happens. If not, who knows. It was pretty clear that the conference has the book on him right now.

And, it comes down to if we can find a guard that can handle it. If we can get the Omega Harris that showed up for the FIU game, we'll be OK. We also have Matt Willms and Earvin Morris coming back. Hooper Vint might be back, but some of the speculation is that he might go the graduate transfer route. Lew Stallworth saw a little bit of action this year, and I actually kind of liked him. But, he ended the year suspended for the last 4 games and no one really knows if he'll be back.

We had four redshirts this year. Jake Flaggert (RS SO) and Trey Touchet (RS FR) seem to be similar players - 6-7 forwards who can shoot. Terry Winn (RS FR) is a 6-7 post who started out playing at the beginning of the year, but was injured. Allegedly a tough rebounder. Tevin Caldwell (RS SR) is a 6-3 point guard. He was a walk-on who filled in last year after our guards got suspended. Not much on the offensive end, and I think the coaches redshirted him to help offset Washburn's void on the defensive end. But, there's no way he'll play 30+ minutes a game. I don't follow our recruits all that much, but we have 6-7 Paul Thomas (who a lot of people on our board are high on), 6-10 Christian Romine (who looks like a John Bohannon clone), and 6-4 Lee Moore (Earvin Morris clone) coming in next year.

So, I don't know. I was pretty confident that we'd just be reloading a couple of weeks ago. After our finish to the year, I'm not so sure.

MT is only losing Jacquez Rozier and Marcus Tarrance. Although they were contributors, they are not the driving force in our team. It is important to note that we have 3 scholarship freshmen on our team now, who all stepped up big-time this year. Upshaw is our good Soph, and Phillips was off-and-on... Our juniors -- are phenomenal. Perrin, DJ, Darnell, and Jaqawn are all coming back to haunt the dreams of UTEP and WKU !!! We have a good recruiting class coming in this next year... highlighted by Karl Gamble and Justin Coleman, both supposedly strong power forwards. Gamble is 6'8" (taller than Rozier) and Coleman 6'7", same as Upshaw. We will be good next year -- probably competing for a title AGAIN!

We are an unknown. New coach and already down our starting center. No idea how many other players transfer. I suspect there will be a few

That Jones guy scares me. I have a mini heart attack whenever he shoots from the arc.

DJ is a deadly 3 pt shooter. Don't worry, he does the same thing to me too -- his shots can look so wild and still hit nothing but net.

UAB started 2 freshmen, 2 sophomores and a junior today.

I think we'll be okay.

Watch it now, last time I used asterisks in a thread to represent words I got a whole mod/sticky thread thrown at me and also a neg rep by a member of the board.
