I think the important boosters have more on their plate than worrying about the pep band.

Golden Rule: Those with the gold make the rules.

We'll see. If the powers that be want Pastner gone, he's gone.
If they want to give next year, that will happen as well.

I've never had much luck arguing with millionaires personally...

Absolutely.

Most seem to respect a non-schmoozing opinion, though.

I get it. Most of my clients have more money than me (hence paying my fees). Unless it's code/legal, it's their project and their money.

"I want a non-code compliant project."
Me: "No."

"I want to use this ugly tile that resembles a 1970s track home"
Me: "Yes sir/m'aam"

Taste is so freaking emotional. You're right. Best not mess with it.
It's just hard when you have to put your name on it.

Not all your work is advertised... I've got projects I'm very proud of (I've been nationally published under both my old employer and under my own practice), and others where the client's taste / budget/ inability to get out of their own way screwed it up. They can't ALL be winners.

Besides, the finishes? Their money / their call. It's my advice, but their wallet. It's the clients / GCs screwing you in the field building non-compliant stuff and/or lying on the paperwork that keeps me (and my insurer) up at night.

They want ugly tile? I'll give them ugly tile. I can always photoshop that out 04-cheers

Sigh, back to work.
