Freedom Hall was the right move with the wrong pricing involved, but from the looks of it that was done to pay Bartow's buyout.
I can't fully put my finger on what it is about him, but I had an RTVF professor tell me one time that "cameras never lie." I see him on TV and something about him makes me not want to trust him. I don't know what it is, but I think it's time for him to wind up what he was brought here to do, and get a Rick Hart type A.D. in that's going to unify, kick ass, and help ETSU get back to winning in basketball and 100% lay the foundation for championship football.
It sounds like you have a problem with Sander personally and that's clouding your ability to evaluate what he's done in the last year 1/2.
Lucky with Ezell?? Really?
This is a classic case of not giving someone credit for what they do well, and blaming them for everything that goes poorly. Sander has proven himself to be more than competent. Has everything been perfect? No, but that's a situation that exists with every athletic department. Right now Sander/Noland are simply getting the sh*t down to boot level and laying the foundation for what comes next. It`s often ugly and I would expect missteps along the way.
What I think has happened is that ETSU fans have become so jaded by what's gone on the last 10-15 years they don't know a good thing when they see it and try to pick and find faults. Given the ineptitude of Stanton/Mullins I guess that's to be expected but it's not right to project the faults of the past when a new player comes onto the scene.
Richard Sander is HIGHLY respected in the world of college athletics, this isn't his first rodeo. We'd be wise to enjoy his leadership while it lasts because there's no telling what comes next.
Yes..Sander is HIGHLY respected in college athletics.. and it's not his first rodeo.. he has been in this business for a long time and if he was not trustworthy he would have been found out years ago.. and coaches would not want to leave their jobs to come work for him..
We are lucky to have him at ETSU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETSU Salaries
What Sander and Noland have done in their short time here is nothing short of remarkable.

RE: ETSU Salaries
As I remember..from the things posted on this board thousands of times over the past several years.. we wanted:
A new AD
the return of FOOTBALL
out of the Asun
a new basketball coach..
It's like someone gave Nolan a wish list from this board.. and Sander is checking it off one by one...........................
Even though he can't do it all exactly like some would want.. I for one am HAPPY!!!

Speaking of baseball, looks like SKole has reverted to his mean, I wonder how long he is going to be able to hang around with no results in his new stadium.

The mistakes that were made on previous athletic venues are why Dr. Noland and Dr.Sander choose a proven sports architect to design the football complex and not a local one.

Who designed the 'previous athletic venues'?

Does anybody still have the napkins they were drawn on? Or a large wrecking ball?
