Who Gets Your Vote?
Mike Rhoades of Rice for the men's side.
Inherited a team of kids picked last in conference, turned them into warriors in half of a season. Competitive in every single game of the year.

Having said that, I can understand if we want to wait until next year for this award - once he gets a few of his recruits on the floor and a little bit of depth.

RE: Who Gets Your Vote?
Another name-your-school's-coach thread! So I'll pick the one whose team is dancing.

Actually I am very impressed with Haase, and it has nothing to do with the conference championship: he recruited a great group of freshmen and lost none of them at the semester break, while football players were streaming off campus and Ray Watts' monstrous assault on the entire university was in full swing. Haase kept his team together and managed to show disdain for Watts and the Trustees (the Birmingham jerseys, the black suits) without putting his players and program in jeopardy or exposing them to retaliation.

On the women's side, Randy Norton's team wasn't all that good on the court, but I have stood next to them at protest after protest where they have been resolute. And Norton himself has defied Ray Watts in print and in public. He has been willing to throw his career away to stand up against the fascist regime in Tuscaloosa. Randy Norton is a man of honor. There are far too few of those in this world.

You missed that Rhoades was 2-0 against the tournament finalists.

How long has it been since Rice beat a team in the regular season that went to the Dance?

I was not at all a fan of your last womens coach. Ive seen her show her ass many times. Once dropping repeated Fbombs at our arena. But Norton seems to run your program much the same way ours is run. I like him and the guy at utsa.
But, if picking a coy I always have to go with my own. She does more with less than anyone. We have the absolute worst excuse for a fan base. People who have never attended a womens game having the gall to call for her to resign sat night. Some of our folks think with our vast resources we can fire our way to greatness.
She has endured 2 athletic directors who did nothing for her sport until the current one.
Two straight years we lost assistant coaches who went to schools for double their salaries. Ironically both of those are now d1 head coaches. The ad at the time actually wanted to know why she had a "revolving door" with that spot.
We are lucky to have the lowest paid coach in cusa who can make it to the finals two straight years.
