Who ever they are they are just being dumb mostly sore from losing. I wish who ever gets to dance best luck and keep the conference proud. This season was rough for UAB and a championship might heal it a little bit. Go Blazers!! Fire Ray Farts #FREEUAB

The fact is both MT and UAB have young teams this year playing lots of freshman and sophomores. It just took awhile for these two teams to get it together. That's why our OOC records weren't so great, however, I think both teams have proved that they belong with the top teams in the conference.

Lot of that salty business going around. As a formerly salty fellow, it takes at least 24 hours for it to cycle through. Give them time and don't judge in the meantime.

Perhaps the SMARTEST post EVER from an ODU fan on this board.

I'm walking a fine line here. I watched our entire game. And, without question, we were outplayed, outcoached, outscrapped, outhustled....whatever other out you can up with, for the last 30 minutes of the game. But, on the other hand, we were on the bad end of probably 3-4 calls in the last 3:00 of the game that I can't help but have the feeling that we were screwed out of that game.

Yeah but we got the benefit of calls the game before. How about that ball that bounced off of Floyd. That should have been a T.

Nah, I think the most important out…was the coaching. Kermit gave Ctf a coaching clinic. In the first half YOU COULD SEE Middle huffing and puffing but did ctf use it to his advantage? Nah, he was thinking ahead to Sundays game not wanting his team to be tired. Well coach, they won't be.
I'm tired of ctfs tantrums, lies about this being the best team he's ever had, etc. I'm pretty dumb, I don't know when to quit and next year I'll probably still be in my seat at the Don (because that's what real fans do) but I'll still hate Ctf coaching the Miners.
WAIT 'TIL NEXT YEAR. A banner with those words should hanging from the door of the Don. That's been our mantra for 5 LOOOOOOONNNNNG years.

On another note our ODU admin has banned dawgxas indefinitely- I could understand a day or two but not indefinitely. #FreeDawgxas! The guy/girl hasn't even used foul language or anything.

Solid post - after reading through the threads around the Tech UAB game yesterday it seems like we need to be more gracious losers and same could be said for some of the UAB posters after winning

I don't hate UAB or MT. But either one will likely be a 15 seed in the tournament. LT would have probably been a more respectable 13 (although only slightly more respectable). We need ODU to snatch that last at large to maintain any sort of respectability. Or UAB/MT could go win a couple games.

Field Goals - 28 of 77, 38% I make that as 49 missed shots.
When Mike Anderson coached us, we played high intensity, pressing swarming defense. That meant we got a lot of cheap hand check and contact fouls. If you get a ref crew that calls that tight, sometimes you get a lot of fouls. Same refs on both ends of the court, mate. It was one helluva good game, could have gone either way easily.

RE: Wassup with the MTSU and UAB hatin'?
Long ago, my brother was an Auburn walk on for Pat Dye. In the Sugar Bowl, Auburn kicked a last-second field goal to tie Syracuse and deny them a mythical national championship. Syracuse coach Dick MacPherson was livid, and let Dye know at mid-field. Dye's response?
"If you wanted to win so bad, maybe you should have blocked the ###damned field goal."
Soooo ... if LaTech wanted to win so bad, maybe they shouldn't have surrendered with almost a minute left in overtime.

La Tech is also lucky UAB hit 10% worse than our season average on FTs or the game would have been over much sooner. Actually about 15-20% worse than our CUSA average on FTs.
These were not homer officials. I can assure you there were more than a few calls that UAB felt were missed as well. No game gets all the calls right. People fixate on the officiating in close games. It's natural. But it's no different than any game.
