The Cajuns need to take it easy on us next Monday/Tuesday when Ga. Southern comes to Lafayette. The way our season has gone I would be surprised if we can get any game past 5 innings.

RE: SBC Softball 3/13-15
The Cajuns (20-3) win game 3 by the run-rule against the Mavericks (14-13), 8-0 (6)

UL sweeps UTA in the conference series

"We have pitchers who are able do the things we want them to be able to do – spin the ball, change planes, pitch secondary pitches and keep good hitters off balance," head coach Michael Lotief said. "And you've got a good defense behind them."

Christina Hamilton threw a 2 hit shutout

After the Cajuns offense blasted 6 homeruns in game 1 yesterday, today was balanced in both games. Louisiana saw four different players post RBI's in each half of the doubleheader.

"In order to be good you have to get contributions from one through nine and that's what we're trying to get right now," Lotief remarked. "Instead of just picking out the star we need to get to a point where we're getting contributions from everybody every time out."

Then gave up 13 runs in the 6th & 7th to lose 13-4. It looks like Coach Woodard is doing the same thing I saw from her last year. When she senses her pitcher is getting in trouble, she pulls her before the real damage is done. The substitute pitcher then gets rocked. Yes, I saw that Rupp has played the most this season, but Garner had only given up 4 hits when she was pulled. I know she's smarter than me, but I've seen that fail for her more than once.

USA @ ULM was not able to be played today. They will play 2 games tomorrow and this will be a 2-game series instead of a 3-game series.

I hate when they do that and that happens.

ULM splits the double header with South Alabama. Warhawks run-rule the Jaguars 8-0, first time USA has been treated that way this season but they come back to win the second game 2-0. First win for ULM over USA since 2011 and first win over a ranked opponent since 2012 (ULL).

That'll knock us out of the top 25 for now, but there's still a lot of season to go with both LSU and MSU ahead of us. The good news for the Jags is that we finally got our ace back for game two to take some of the pressure off the two freshmen pitchers. She's been out since around the third game of the year. 1 hit and 12 strikeouts. Still need more runs though.
