There's no way that Pearl would leave Auburn for Memphis at this point and, imho, it's a pipedream to think otherwise--even if Memphis would consider him which is problematic for all the old reasons.

I do enjoy the UT angst though.

On a related note, Donnie Tyndall is now an unpaid volunteer associate AD at Tennessee Wesleyan.

We aren't going to spend that kind of money anymore in basketball until we get into a p5 conference. The writing is on the wall that most of the money will go towards football

No, it should not be, IF it negatively impacts the football push. If that money is needed for football, it goes to football. I don't care if we hire the janitor at $12 an hour if it gets us into a P5 conference. Anything else is short-sighted and will eventually kill the very program we all love so much.

nope, we are just focusing on the sport that drives conference realignment. But, the basketball team is getting a new facility

You can do both. The miracle of paying the current basketball head coach's salary to a better coach sure would make it seem we are spending money on both (potential) revenue generating sports.

As much as I'd love to have BP, I don't see any reason why he should leave the SEC for the AAC. I'm sure Auburn would match any offer Memphis would make, he's doing such a good job.

I get your point tho. But, that's not going to be the case.

The only reason anyone even considers Stoudamire and mentions him as a serious candidate is because it is thought they can pay him less than a mil to be the head coach.
