CSNBBS Biggest Loser Interest Thread
Hi all,

Another forum I frequent has done Biggest Loser competitions in the past, so I thought I'd bring it over to this website (since I never seem to be able to get in on the start of one). Also, I'm desperately in need of some motivation.

We will be using percentage of weight lost as our measurement. I was thinking of having a two-fold competition, the first structured similar to the TV show, where the lowest amount of weight lost each week (or highest amount gained) would result in elimination. The second part of the competition would run the entire length of the contest and the winner would be the highest % lost over the course of the whole contest. So even if you have one bad week (which knocked you out of the first contest), you can continue competing in the overall competition.

GTS has agreed to provide medals to the winners of the competition, and by no means are the rules above final. I'm open to having some discussion and we can make some changes to the rules as we have consensus. We'll also need to determine a start date/weekly weigh-in day, how to handle late weigh-ins, and a finish date.

Here's an example of a rule from the other forum regarding late weigh-ins:

"Policy on late weigh-ins and "Get Out of Jail Free ... for a Day": The get out of jail free for a day rule allows each player to miss a weigh in by at most a day, but it is only a one time deal. As an example, if you forgot to weigh in on Wednesday or just forgot to get on the forum (not likely), you have until 11:59PM EDT the following day to still safely submit your weight and stay in the game. It is used passively. So if I haven't received your weight by 11:59PM on Wednesday, I will use it for you."

RE: CSNBBS Biggest Loser
Crap, I wish we would have started this last year. In June of 2014 I was 6'0 235 lbs. I decided to make a change with my nutrition (diet) and exercise.

As of this morning. I am down to 187 lbs. Still have another five pounds I would like to lose around my waist.

At 42 years of age I can bench, squat and run a mile faster now than I could at 21.

That's awesome! I've actually lost about 70 pounds over the last 3.5 years or so, but I still have a ways to go. Thought this would be a fun way to go about it!

RE: CSNBBS Biggest Loser
I really want to do this, but I think I only want to lose another 15 pounds, maybe not even that much, but once I get to 180, no more weight falls off. Should have started this August of 2011, I would have smoked you all losing 33% of myself haha.

Bleeds you could still do it, losing 15 in (say we do the contest for 10 weeks) is around 8% (assuming you're at 195). That's not a bad percentage lost.

RE: CSNBBS Biggest Loser
I am down right at 20 lbs since January. My goal is to lose 40 more.

I log my food into myfitnesspal.com, gave up soft drinks, drink lots of water, and do a little Power 90. I try to stay under 2,000 calories a day.

It's been pretty slow going so far, so I'm willing to give it a couple weeks.

Let me know a deadline and i'll let you know on my end..

Only suggestion I might make is to not let everyone know the other folks' weight. Only how much they've lost in both lbs and %.

I'm in. Mostly because my girlfriend buys all of my clothes and I want some new shirts, being a size smaller should be enough justification.
