I think that next weekend will tell us a lot as to where we are, USA is a very good team and we're playing that series at their house . . . Not looking for a sweep, but would love to take that series . . . .

Georgia State gets the two-game sweep over Arkansas State in Jonesboro. Go Panthers. Great start, especially because we were horrid on the road in SBC play last season.

Time to re-evaluate ourselves as a squad. I know that we've been destroyed by the inability to practice outside for a month, but there's no excuse what happened today. We decided sometime in the middle of game 1 that we were going to get beat because Georgia State was getting the bounces. Frustrating last couple weekends...

ULL being swept by UALR is shocking especially when UALR is usually at or near the bottom in baseball.

Am glad that ULAR had the series it had with ULL . . . After the way we started the season, I was afraid that ULL would run away with it before we could even get up and running . . . . .

This is frustrating. Had two interference calls on us today, both cost us runs. One was on the batter who popped up behind the plate and the catcher dropped it (winds were 20-30 sustained). Ump calls batter out due to "interference". Would have scored later in inning. Then in the 7th, runners on corners, one out, ground ball. Ump at second determined the runner slid out of the base path and called the runner at first out (who was safe by two steps) due to interference. Runner slid into the bag. Nowhere near outside the base path. Surprised Billy Jones wasn't ejected.

We needed to win today bad, but we just can't close games. It's frustrating. The talent is there, but the slide continues.

Our coaching is really going to catch up with us because of the unfamiliarity of the conference.

It's not our coaching, it's the pitching holding us back. We might finish in the middle of the league. What a ****ty week to be an Eagle.

This is actually the kind of season I expected with so many new players. We had leads in the first half of game one and then went five scoreless innings. In the second game we had a blown save giving up two in the bottom of the ninth to lose. As good as the bullpen was in the series against Troy they didn't do the same job against UALR, especially in the first game where you have two hit batters which ultimately was the winning run. You have to give UALR all the credit for getting it done in crunch time and outhitting the Cajuns in both games.

Weather "Gussers" calling for a 70% chance of rain throughout the day tomorrow in San Marvelous. . . . . . We may not be able to get our game in with UTSA.

UALR won both games in the bottom of the 9th. UL's bullpen couldn't come through with the wins.
