I was getting it. It just now cut out on me.

Video kept cutting in and out on me but it sounded like there isn't a buy out and that $400,000 number that was reported yesterday is false. Again it was cutting in and out so I could be wrong. Anyone else catch that?

Yep i heard that. That number was made up. Some great answers from Sander.

Could someone who saw it post a synopsis of what was said? Was Bartow there? This is interesting about the possible non-buyout.

So I bet he really did have to win 17 games.

Some highlights:

• Sander said Bartow was disappointed, but handled with dignity
• Sander said he felt like the social media chatter got to Bartow.
• Sander said that head coaches are paid well and that we have a million-dollar budget (suggesting the expectations are high)
• Sander said that he felt like we had the players to win the SOCON
  

I appreciate Sander's candor.

Sander said the reason he was fired was because we weren't competing for championships when he felt like we should be.

Sounds like there is no buy out but like I said my video was cutting in and out so I'm not 100%.

Sander expressed complete confidence in hiring a coach. He said he's been speaking to Capel, Buzz Williams, Anthony Grant to get their feel on who they think would be a good fit for the program. So I don't expect any of those guys to get the job since it seemed like he was asking them for their advice.

He mentioned the power of message boards and social media and how everyone has a platform. So I think it's obvious that our voice was defiantly heard in all of this and that it might have bothered Bartow.

Sorry - I clarified my first point. Sander said that Bartow was disappointed but handled it with dignity.

Dr. Sander said he thought we had the players to win the SOCON championship this past season and to not do that was disappointing. Bottom line Bartow was not winning.

Just for clarification, I believe the Buzz he was referring to is Buzz Williams and not Peterson. Williams is a Villa guy.

Sander also mentioned that fan support had waned over the last couple of years and that also played a role in the decision.

Makes sense. I was a bit confused when I thought he was talking about Peterson. I'll fix that in my post.

Sander also mentioned "the message board" when referring to platforms people could voice their opinion on, which i thought was interesting.
