just saw this:
http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball...-champions

Not a shocker at all. Pretty much knew they had to do this.

As much grief as the Big12 deservingly got for their co-champion push last year, this policy change would have changed nothing if it was in place last year.

In fact, the committee's final rankings already acknowledged it considered Baylor the Big12 champion by moving Baylor ahead of TCU in the final rankings.

Doesn't really matter anyway... In the end the top ranked B12 team will be rated versus the other four champs, and someone will get left out of the dance.

Except for the fact that it's not champions only. Forgot that little fact...

What if three team have 1 loss, each beating one of the others?

The Big12 administrtaton has never been able to think that far ahead.
Once it happens..... then they will address the issue.

After it happens they will make a decision.

It's happened already in 08/09. OU/UT/TTech in the same division.

Nothing can break this, besides OOC schedule. If that is also a push more or less (both in W-L and strength of opponents) then there is nothing else that could feasibly break the tie besides some arbitrary metric. This is a problem not just for the Big 12, but all conferences and their quote on quote, "one true champion".

The whole concept is ridiculous. You can never break a three way tie if head to head is not applicable besides using some subjective method.

Actually, not like anybody else. Every other league that had fewer than 12 members has always had co-champions in case of ties.

And every league has co-champions in the regular season of most other sports. The way the Big 12 handled ties is the same way almost every sport handles ties.

The new CFP committee based system is what changed things.

Personally, I hope that they still give a co-champs designation/trophy to tied teams like all leagues do for every other sport, but simply designate an official champion for the purposes of the CFP.
